According to the League Manager's Association .. manage the club you played for .. of the magic 92, no less than 31 (as I type this, things can change very quickly) are managed by ex players for that club .. who'd'a thunk it ?, a third, 33% .. that stat really surprised yet pleased me
So, under Monsieur Bowyer (and M Jackson), we should be well down the road to great success.
Mind you, some managers have played for a LOT of clubs

It's a football cliche isn't it, "knowing the club"
"We're so glad to have xxxx back as manager, As a former player he knows the club and what it stands for etc"
In some ways true, but are football clubs of a similar really that different?2
