My first Reynolds film was Cannonball Run. He exuded the charm I wished for in my early years! Deliverance was a tour de force performance. RIP Burt.

As others have said, I loved Smokey and the Bandit and The Cannonball Run as a kid, then thought Boogie Nights was brilliant years later. RIP

Imagine how different things would have been if he had taken the role of either Han Solo or John McClain.

Interestingly enough he hated making that movie and almost went out of his way to stop the thing being released iirc. He fell out big time with Paul Thomas Anderson, the writer/director.
