If anyone doubted Roland Duchatelets heinous ownership of this football club then take a look at the numbers now willing to protest.
Fair play to those that made the effort but the numbers are now in their handfuls instead of the hundreds or even thousands. You can blame the summer holidays. You can blame the short notice. Two years ago there would have been far more people there imo. As has been said before, supporters have slowly been finding better ways to spend their time. Talk of tens of thousands suddenly turning up when he finally leaves is wide of the mark and very wishful thinking.
I don’t know if it was his intention. It may well be his only success, but without doubt Roland Duchatelet has well and truly broken the back of this football club.
I wish whoever finally gets to prize Duchatelets murderous hands from control of CAFC all the very very best of luck.
I think the days of really big numbers at the protests are over as the overall attendance is significantly lower these days, so today was a fair effort in terms of feet on the ground.
Shame it descended into a bit of a farce with Charlton fans arguing amongst ourselves which undermined any momentum we could have got going.
Think the car park protests are done now. No one in the stadium to even aim the anger at.
Great PR exercise. As always I'm amazed at the people that can't give ten minutes of their time to stand with the protesters, they seem in such a rush to get to their seat for some reason.

Let's manage some expectations here. The reality is that, with this protest called at very short notice in response to "Bonusgate" quite a lot of fans who would have loved to come and protest just won't be able to make it. And the timelines are too tight for CARD to organise their usual throwables, placards etc. In an organised sense, this is about getting as many fans as possible, boycotters and attenders, to come and demonstrate their support for Charlton staff and their disgust at Duchatelet's scrooge like actions.
But, as others have already said, there is a lot of scope to cause disruption inside the ground. Like minded people can group together, with their own banners, throwables, whistles etc, and cause a bit of havoc. Just organise it amongst your own groups. Speaking personally, and not for CARD, whilst we have previously only ever sought to delay and mildly disrupt a game I feel we are quickly getting to the stage where we need to do something more drastic to force the issue. If that means getting a game abandoned, so be it. If not on Saturday, that day is fast approaching.
We could really have done with today’s game being abandoned, and done us all a favour!

Most importantly we supported the staff and garnered a huge amount of publicity for the shabby way they have been treated and for the on-going disaster that is Duchatelet.
It was a win, stop moaning. It was a 1-0 win with a scruffy goal but it was a win.
Well that was a bit of a let down. Gave out crisps, attended the rally in the car park and now on my way to join up with the amimal rights march in town. I think I already know which'll be more passionate.

I thought the crisp protest was an excellent idea, as like the previous pig protest it really caught the media attention. Getting the media to be interested in the struggles of a 3rd division club is not easy, and this worked a treat, especially as being so seemingly "random" the media would then be interested to find out and publicise WHY the crisps were thrown on the pitch.
Fair play to everyone involved today but I'm afraid in my opinion that apathy has kicked in. We are now under an owner who does not care if we are sold in 2 years time. 300/400 plus people are in the car park venting their anger but tono one in charge. God forbid there was a major incident today in one of the stands. Who would be the official spokesman? Bowyer? Mr Parkes? It's a mess. An unacceptable mess.
The official attendance today was under 9,000 minus it by 3 and you will get a true reflection. Floodlights on after 70 minutes in bright sunshine today but the rancid owner refuses to pay the staff what they are owed.
Lowest of the low as far as I'm concerned. He's crossed a line. You nevet, never upset your staff, but he's done that.
So where now? The Football League in my opinion won't do nothing, the alleged takeover is more alice in wonderland than real life.
