travel insurance for cancer patients

I am just at the end of treatment for prostate cancer and am struggling to find anyone who will provide travel insurance for myself and my wife. I have read that this is not unusual but that there are specialist companies that can help but I have been unable to find any. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Haven't used them for years, but used to be excellent.

  • Hope your treatment is going well.

Are you current or ex-public sector? If so, you could try the CSSC - they do a policy for over-50s and there is no requirement to declare pre-existing medical conditions.

Other option is to get cover with an exclusion for that condition so at least you’ve got luggage/travel/broken leg cover. (This is what my mum did as she’s not yet 5 years clear)

I use All Clear, not cheap, but they do cover you when others don't. Good luck with this and hope your treatment concludes successfully.

I would also recommend talking to MacMillan, the help they give in a huge number of areas is invaluable.

Good Luck with what remains of your treatment and your full recovery. Take care x

After recovering from pancreatic cancer I travelled to the US and ended up using this company MIA http://www.miatravelinsurance.co.uk. It was about 3 years ago now and I think I paid about £300 for 2 weeks.
