I still hope we get a decent owner with his head screwed on that offers him the terms that will keep him. In my eyes Lyle the player is worth his weight in gold, lyle the man and personality is irreplaceable.

I have hoped that for a while.
Unfortunately he talks like a man who knows he wont be here next season(whenever that is)
Talks well been kicked out of about 8 clubs. And wants to leave Charlton who have made him basically just over a year in!
If we had a normal, decent owner and showed some ambition, I guarantee he would stay. Unfortunately we are screwed and he deserves the chance to show what he can do at a higher level than we can offer him right now
Cannot see any situation where Lyle will be with us next year unfortunately. Can’t blame hi,. Hopefully he can help keep us up and leave head held high.
Rumours on the reliable source that is Facebook that Lyle is only training and won't be playing for us again. Apparently he doesn't want to risk getting injured.

Nah don’t buy that. If he wasn’t playing for us again, I’m sure the club wouldn’t have him in for training / providing his twice weekly testing etc.

Someone probably taken what Bowyer said and is twisting it.
Bowyer said 2 out of contract players are not training.
Someone probably twisted that to Taylor is out or contract and isnt gonna play again lol.
Taylor said himself he doesn't know and wont know until he sees the protocol of stage 2 and stage 3
I think what he meant was after the contract expires in June, he will still train with the club and will be paid until end of July as I believe this is what the Efl have agreed. But will not play past June.

There have been rumours about Lyle’s supposed lack of commitment all season long, yet, when it’s come down to it, there probably hasn’t been a player who can claim to have given more effort for the cause than Taylor.
Really don’t get fans that want to undermine him. He’s been absolutely crucial to everything positive that has happened in the last 2 seasons. I’d be very surprised if he doesn’t start every match for which he is fit and score a few goals in the process.
When did bowyer say 3 out of contract players aren’t training?
Sage mentioned it on the other thread earlier, i presume he saw it somewhere.
Its 2 out of contract players and Davies who haven't returned to training
2 players out of contract this summer are currently not risking it, whilst Davis is the player who they’re hoping to convince to come back to London.
Yeah no I understand what you were saying, I was just telling @cafc4life where it came from lol.
Clearly its not Taylor as we have seen him train, whether he chooses to play or not is another thing entirely and will depend how safe he feels going into stage 2(contact training) and stage 3(actual matches)
And to add to that , I feel does genuinely love the club and if he was offered with us what he could get elsewhere it would be a no brainer.
After hearing the recent interviews with him and the fact that he wanted away in August 2019, I’m surprised when people say “he loves the club” or “he’s proper Charlton” because it is not the impression I get at all. He strikes me as a cleverer than average, very career driven footballer but he’ll never step foot in the Valley again once he leaves in June or July. He doesn’t even like football so can’t be that fussed on Charlton. I’m not knocking the guy at all (I actually find it refreshing to hear a player being so honest) as he has always given 100% for us and played a massive part in our success last season but “proper Charlton?” No chance. That’s for the likes of Steve Brown, Steve Gritt, Chris Solly etc etc....
