So I met Taylor the day England played and won on penalties to Columbia. He was a nice lad and full of himself, it was his first pre season with us. Anyway he got smashed off his face and I have pics of him asleep in a bar.
We have messaged over there years to laugh about it. I sent him a message last night and he sent a heart. Not sure if he is taking the piss of not
Edit: I did not take the pics, I was away with work and all the work lads were snapping

Why are you wishing him luck?
Had a few too many cans and it’s not my style to just call someone a c*nt
Whether it makes a difference or not I don't know but football clubs know alot about what goes in at other football clubs.
Taylor will get a decent contract elsewhere, but our relegation will taint him a little. If he had played on and scored the goals to keep us up other clubs would see that Taylor provides value so may have got a better contract then he may he be offered at this point now.
More goals, more money. Simple. By quitting clubs don't know if he can last a Championship season. He will easily get a contract elsewhere, but if he had played, scored and kept us up I am sure it would've been more than he'll be offered now.

Let down his charlton team mates, management, club staff and fans. The man is rotten to the core!
This. Taylor’s greed has cost Morgan and doughty (unless sold) championship football. They are now playing at a lower level against lesser opposition, in turn, the club (under sensible owners) could have sold them for good money and used the money to strengthen the squad.
If the snake had played, would we have got that extra point? I appreciate that this is an impossible question to answer but I think yes. The spell against reading where we couldn’t break them down, a second against Birmingham might have happened with taylor playing and his movement.
I blame mouthall and chums for this needles relegation but a finger should be firmly pointed in lyles direction too.
this relegation is hard to take as the other two, we were in trouble all season. This season we were one step ahead until the 93rd minute at Birmingham. Taylor would have kept us clear. Does he care, like shit he does because this isn’t Wembley and he isn’t climbing towards the wheelchair enclosure with the sky cameras on him.
i hope he fails, but the sad thing is, he won’t care because he will have £‘a in the bank to massage his ego.
Whoever gets him is welcome to him. I hope his gentleman bits drop off.
The morning after the least surprising relegation in my Charlton supporting life i continue to rue the fact that ONE GOAL, just the ONE, would of changed our outlook catagiorically today.

FFS, the state of that message.
Had far too many beers at the time. I can’t believe he sent a heart back liking the message the cnt
I understand Lyle Taylor getting stick for not playing in June when his contract was still valid, but why should he play in July for a team that didn't offer him a contract commensurate with his status as a championship striker.
I'm a long time Charlton fan but the extension temporary contract could have jeopardize his only big contract he's ever going to get for the last two to three years he has left.
I will save my hatred for Southall who exploited the loop hole in the EFL and being an opportunist who have failed at everything in life saw yet another chance to make some quick money before he was sussed out.
I have no idea if he did anything illegal other that when he was up before the beak and found guilty of changing the status of names at company house.

You’re supposed to text your ex bird when you’re pissed, not your ex striker!
The 3 games he was contracted for we won 2 and drew 1. That's as good as that could have been expected even with Taylor.
Blaming him for not playing in games he wasn't even contracted for is just bizarre. He'd have been a f**king idiot to extend his contract for the 7 games.
There's an actual conmen and thieves involved at the club driving around in range rovers and each others fees they haven't earnt that vastly outweigh any sum of money involved in Taylor's contract. Let's stick to bashing that lot rather than a guy who was vital in getting us promoted and even us having a chance to stay in this division and ALWAYS gave his all when on the pitch, shall we?!
He's been honest about the transfer saga last summer and about the contract negotiations over the past 12 months in his interviews.
Nothing positive can come out of this thread, but have fun, I guess.

Tin hat on, but I actually agree with this
Lyle is being painted as the villain of the situation, but he had every right to refuse to play once his contract expired.
I'm convinced we would've stayed up had he played & I guess that's why people are so upset, but he is not the enemy. I believe he became as disillusioned as the rest of us by the way the club was being run & didn't want to risk any potential future transfer, so bailed out when he had the chance.
Direct your anger towards the charlatans running the club. They are the real enemy.

Football contracts are geared around seasons, all people are asking is that he finished the season. Which is what the vast majority of out of contract players did

Why? Williams, Matthews, cullern, field to name a few all extended their contracts to see the season through. Most professionals at most other clubs did the same. Taylor, solly, the hull players and the boro defender are the exception.
taylor was vital in promotion but equally as vital in our relegation.
southal and chums are vial and taylor, although not as bad, is in the same category
he wasn’t worried about injury playing for his national team and taking 14 weeks money. Horrible man.

Why was 2 wins and 1 draw the best expected with Taylor? If we managed that without him, then it’s not too far to say we could have 3 wins with him.
I don’t believe he would have been a “f**king idiot” as you put it to extend and play the extra 6 games. As others have said, players all over the championship and premier league have done exactly that to fight for the club. So you think Cullen is a “f**king idiot” for extending his loan contract beyond the end of normal season?

But we might have beaten Cardiff...that would have seen us safe...geezer is a arrogant egotistical grade a wanker...

Nice guy? Maybe
Up his own arse? For sure
Cnut? Completely and utterly
Leave him. He's a waster and discredits himself with no extra advertising needed.

Bigger issues for the club.
