Bowyer Talks - Weekly press conference updates

LB💬: “My message to the players is the same as always. Saturday is a difficult game against a good side and we have to stay together. We’re a good side, especially at home, and we have good fans that get behind us, so I’m looking forward to getting back to The Valley.” #cafc
LB💬: “Yes, it’s a big game and we’re in the run-in now, but I trust my players to go out there and fight for every ball.” #cafc
LB💬: “It’s going to go to the wire and I think there are more teams involved than people realise. Our players know what we have to do and if they do that, we will be fine.” #cafc
LB💬: “The Huddersfield result was disappointing but the scoreline looked worse than it was. My disappointment was the work-rate, but I know that will change. Every time we’ve had a bad result, the players react and The Valley will be bouncing.” #cafc
LB💬: “They have a good squad of players and Jonathan has had to bring some of the younger players through this season. I know him as a person and I have no doubt that he will turn things around there.” #cafc

LB💬: “You can try and set yourself a target, but that can change. If you look at last season, 40 points would have been enough. We’re on 39 with 10 to go, but teams have done well this year so it pushes that mark up.” #cafc
LB💬: “The most important thing is that we stay above there and get as many points on the board from now until the end of the season. That goal has never changed since the start of the season.” #cafc
LB💬: “The league is so tight. There’s not much in it at all. Even when we had those injuries and were losing, we were in every game. If you go through a stage of missing chances or making defensive mistakes, you can go on a run of losing games.” #cafc
LB: “Every game we go into, I believe that we can win because we have the players that can make that happen. If two or three of our players aren’t at it, then we will get found out and that’s what happened on Saturday.” #cafc
LB: “I spoke to the players and showed them. They can see the physical difference so they know what they need to do.” #cafc
LB: “The crowd have been excellent, home and away. Apart from a couple of occasions, the players haven’t let them down. They give them everything. We can’t forget how far we’ve all come, just because things aren’t going as we want to at the moment.” #cafc
LB: “We were a club that were never tipped to get promotion last year. We’re a club that no one would have tipped to be out of the relegation zone with 10 games to go. It was never going to be easy, but we’re still in a good place.” #cafc
LB: “You can say mental strength is needed, but it’s about the togetherness as well. The teams that handle it best will be the ones that get the points to stay in this division.” #cafc
LB: “I honestly believe that if we didn’t have the injury problems that we had, we would be safe now. But that’s the way football works, you never know what’s going to happen.” #cafc

LB: “It’s times like this you come together as a group and fight and that’s what my players will be doing. Last week was not a nice experience and they hurt. I know and they know what’s at stake and what they need to do get over the line.” #cafc

Not sure that's true. Maybe not favourites for the top 2, but most clubs would have expected us to be top 62 -

Not going to try to over-analyse any of that from Lee. I will just say that it must be very difficult having to trot out responses to essentially the same questions every week, especially as I'll wager he really can't at any point say what he really thinks.5

"The Huddersfield result was disappointing but the scoreline looked worse than it was"
From what i've seen and read about the game, 4-0 was the least that Huddersfield deserved.2 -

Bowyer himself had said that he waiting to bring in the right players, which was a major reason why we lacked in August. Once we signed Bielik, Cullen and Ward and won 4 straight matches in September, I'm sure the bookies would have adjusted us to be top 6 candidates0 -

Politely suggesting that Thursday's press conference might be an interesting one, especially if Chris Parkes is still suspended.

Bowyer will be advised not to talk about anything other than football. Unless of course we have further developments before then.2

Bowyer might be fishing on his lake in France...0 -
You couldn't blame him for wishing he was!0

"Lee a dramatic week at the club, with its whole future at stake. How are you and the players coping?"
"It is what it is..."7 -

Genuinely feel for Bowyer and the squad with all this shit going on.Would be nice if he could come out and say exactly what he thinks of Southall2
-
I think Lee should be given a press conference bye this week and let him focus on the team.3
-
If he does a Press Conference I really hope he isnt asked about any of this shit whether its Southall | Nimer | Parkes
Focus on talking about the game itself and potentially playing in empty stadiums if your going to talk about other subjects
Leave the players and management to concentrate on what they do best!!2 -
Well said Bowyer.0

I love the guy but lets be honest, he is not going to walk away at any time is he, he has the best part of a three year contract in his back pocket so no matter what is going on you hang around to be sacked and get paid off.
It's what football managers do, some make a good living out of it.1
