Only Joking:

Charlton will provide the opposition for former Aldershot player Paul Shrubb's testimonial at the Recreation Ground on 1 August.
Shrubb, 51, played for both Aldershot FC and Aldershot Town between 1982-87.

He filled roles as player-coach and assistant manager with Aldershot Town and has spent six years scouting for the Addicks.

He was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in 2006 and said: "It means so much to me to be awarded this game."

yeah i fancy it as well, a testimonial that is actually going to help someone who needs it rather than a backslapping event

    Shouldn't it read
Testimonial for Lisbie at Missedshot on 1st August
  • I fancy that too.

Been down there before, and it's a nice little ground, with a boozer and beer garden pretty much opposite.
  • Argggh, it's a Wednesday night!
  • Great little ground - they used to have a tree in the terrace if my memory serves me correctly.

I'm with AFKA on this- it's a game that an effort should be made to go to.
