Some times teams wear different colour shorts or socks because they clash with the other team's. However, this isn't always the case. I think Fulham played Bournemouth this season and both wore black shorts.

Plymouth v Ipswich and both sides have dark tops and socks and white shorts. Yes Plymouth do have white sleeves but when there are set pieces and it is virtually impossible to differentiate between the teams. Ipswich's 2nd kit is actually red/black striped tops, black shorts and black socks so why aren't they wearing that?

This was a bad one from the St Mirren v Celtic last weekend

Not half as concerning as this afternoon's Plymouth v Ipswich clash.

That’s perfect for all the viewers at home watching in black and white.

I briefly played for a Sunday team that wore blue shirts and red shorts - a sort of deconstructed Palace kit. We played a team in red shirts and blue shorts and it was a tad confusing. At one corner, I did a handstand to confuse the defenders (that bit is not actually true).
