There was never a shortage of chicken until someone on the takeover thread wanted to see a chicken fight a penguin...3

True enough, and some places are so keen to get it served (rather than KFC getting hold of it) they don't bother to cook it, as Fiona found out.MartinCAFC said:There was never a shortage of chicken until someone on the takeover thread wanted to see a chicken fight a penguin...

Either way they still get killed to eat, so I don't get how it really matters to anyone who does eat meatkimbo said:https://www.worldanimalprotection.org/change-for-chickens

As a meat-eater, I disagree.Braziliance said:

Here's a couple of hens enjoying a dust bath. It's their natural behaviour - just as stretching out their wings. Although they may try to stretch out their wings they can't in cages, they are too small and tightly packed with other birds. The conditions they are kept in is disgusting.3 -
I can safely say that I have never ever seen a live animal of any stripe being kept in a fast food outlet of any kind. Perhaps if they were to adopt this strategy KFC would have sufficient chicken to stay open.Arsenetatters said:

Hmm, they look tasty. I'm off to KFC now to express how outraged I am & to demand some fried chicken.Arsenetatters said:

I know for us meat eaters this isn't top of our agenda, but out of respect for @Arsenetatters can we perhaps at least curb the chicken jibes?8

Are Chicken Jibes like nuggets? if so this should be on the bite size thread.15 -
Mostly because a free range chicken tastes so much better! I tey to only eat free range chicken/duck/eggs. Although that's a lot easier living in a fairly rural area.WSS said:

To be fair, it is a thread about KFC and eating chickens rather than a discussion of vegetarians objections to the chicken rearing industry.Addickted said:I know for us meat eaters this isn't top of our agenda, but out of respect for @Arsenetatters can we perhaps at least curb the chicken jibes?

similar to when someone kept qouting horse racing death watch when we was trying to discuss the grand national.MrOneLung said:

One of the highlights of my youth as I made my way home from the pubs in Greenwich in the early 70s was a KFC box of greasy chicken wings..then Macdonalds opened in Woolwich in 1974. (?) and it’s been all down hilll since then...1

A woman on the ITV news stating how disgusted she is that there's no chicken. Lol.
If you need to check the open/closed KFC shops you can on the ITV news website.0 -

A puerile and poor attempt at humour but definitely not worth a flag in my humble vegan opinion. Almost as dense as those meat eaters who post a picture of bacon on vegan threads on FB and think they’re being humorous but flaggable? Nah.

I'm not sure how you can compare it to posting a picture on a vegan thread, this one is titled KFC.AddickUpNorth said:Stu_of_Kunming said:

Er, yeah, thanks for pointing that out, I missed that.
My point is and this is how it links to vegan threads on FB is, Arsenetatters posted a pic of her chickens, hens she obviously cares about and someone chooses to make a dim witted and unoriginal comment about eating them. This is no different from when vegans are having a discussion on a FB page when some troll, out of nowhere, will just post a picture of a ham or bacon because in their minds it’s somehow humorous and a good way to get a rise. It’s a bit infantile imo. But like I said I didn’t really view the post as worth a flag.
And to be straight I didn’t open this thread because I was hoping to persue a vegan agenda, I was hoping to read more mockery of KFC fucking themselves up by switching to those chancers DHL just to save a few pennies.5 -
this could have been avoided if they stocked up on these1

See those 5 hens whose lives have just been shortened by 1 week by the actions of one person on the Argument Alert? Well, they just become 6 hens after reading this thread....4 -

The coverage in the national press of this is bonkers. It's almost knocking Oxfam off the top spot. If KFC don't reopen all outlets soon the Colonel is going to get dragged in front of a Parliamentary committee.9

If you’re gonna get wound up, then maybe don’t post pictures of your chickens on a kfc thread on a forum of mainly meat eaters. Setting yourself up.8
