    On another note, I seem to remember a weird rumour last summer that Phil Brown was being lined up as our new manager by some consortium that was supposedly taking us over.

    Maybe he's been put on gardening leave because Southend have found out that he's imminently coming this way :wink:

    Delighted to see the back of tango man.

    Rumours state that chris Powell is indeed coming in. My second favourite player of all time and a class act.

    The team have lacked passion and commitment all season.

    Powell will be well received by our beleaguered support for sure.

    Remember being gutted when we sold Powell to derby in the 90s.

    My sports reporter mate covered Phil Brown for a northern paper when he was at Hull.
