Blackpool were the worst team we have played at the Valley. They were actual shit.

Lapsie was bad, unnecessary sub. It's to early for him.

Karl Robbinson needs to take some flack for this, sub choices were wank.

Amos: 6. One good save, dodgy distribution. Want to see the goal on telly before I judge.

Dijksteel: 6. Solid and promising. Seems allergic to crossing the half way line though

    Konsa: 6.5. Solid.

Sarr: 6. Good but in a slightly scary way. Suspect he was guilty for the goal but need to see it again.

    DaSilva: 7. POTY

Marshall: 4. Flatters to deceive. For a speedster winger he has no pace. Busted flush maybe?

Aribo: 7. Great goal. Much promise. Faded second half

Reeves: 4 might as well have signed Vic Reeves. Some skill apparent but absolutely powderpuff.

Jackson: 6. Solid if a little slow. Glad he was there among the kids.

Maginnes: 6.5. Dreadful first 20 mins then came alive. Limited player and the customary missed sitter but he was a long way from being the worst yesterday.

Best: 6.5. Looked really good until he reminded us he’s made of glass. Bye Leon thanks for the memories.

Ahearne-Grant:5. Disappointing. Thought the game was made for him with his pace but did sod all.

Lapslie. First two touches were a dream. A nightmare from then on. Pity as he should never have been introduced when he was despite how bad Reeves was. Hope this doesn’t set the boy back

  • My interest in the players' marks after that letdown closed about 5:00pm Saturday, I suspect I'm like a lot of others in thinking the thread doesn't need to stay open until 3:00pm today.

Best 7 shame he is injured. He showed glimpses yesterday of the player he could be. Would have been a 8 had he scored.

Amos: 7 Couple of good save, couple of dodgy kicks.

Dijksteel: 7 Solid. Had some good moments and some not so good ones. The play where he stepped into midfield, won the ball, then lofted one out wide for Magennis showed glimpses of what he could do in midfield. First league start.

Konsa: 8.5 - So many times he stepped in to midfield to either intercept the ball or get a toe in and stop it. Yes he had a couple moments of naivety but he also had 3-4 excellent tackles. Think lazy bias is setting in where people just assume he and Sarr are going to be bad. The times they don't look good are the times when they find themselves 2-v-2 with attackers because the midfield has been bypassed.

Sarr: 7.5 - Solid. His ability to step out of defense with the ball and play it to feet helps our attack. Assist.

DaSilva: 7.5 - I like that when we lose the ball his immediate reaction is to put pressure on it and he often forces a mistake. The problem is without Kashi backing up play if the ball does get forward we're in trouble.

Marshall: 5 - He gets a 5 for his work rate and decent defensive work. But he was poor apart from the ball Magennis volleyed over. He looks scared with the ball. His end product is so desperately lacking. His touch is poor.

Aribo: 8.5 - MOTM - A lovely goal, but he also took up a lot of good position, distributed well, and won his fair share of headers and won the ball back at times. Looks like the player who broke through around this time last year. He has loads of ability, and I'm excited to see him playing with Kashi on Tuesday.

Reeves: 5 - Looks like he's in pre-season. Nothing came off for him. He needs to get his foot on the ball and dictate. He has the ability. He has the acceleration. He can find space. He has the close control. He can be very frustrating. He still looks like he's in pre-season.

Jackson: 6.5 Won some good headers and got stuck in, but the game completely passed him by for large stretches.

Maginnes: 6.5 - Started really well on the left but tired toward the end.

Best: 7 - He looks a real handful, he won a lot of headers and held the ball up well. But as has been the case throughout his career, the question is can he score goals.

Ahearne-Grant: 5.5 - Worked hard but didn't really get a chance to get his foot on the ball.

Lapslie: n/a Apart from his early 1-2 with Aribo, he looked drastically out of his depth. His touch was awful. Still only 20 (older than I realized) and making his league debut.

Wow, someone was at the same match as me. Comments are spot on.
Always enjoy your marks and comments too. The fact that we seem to see games the same way makes me feel less crazy on days like today.
