Following the jaw dropping penalty decision in last night's NI match, I was wracking my brains for comparable decisions in my 45 years of watching football. One of which was the elbow from the nasty VDH on Shaun Newton in '93. I had a quick look on Google and came up with this excerpt from his autobiography (I hope the link works?)

Also didn't know it was his first game for them.
I thought that was a fairly simple explanation?
The one for me is the Fulham "hand ball" when Pards had recently taken over.
Ps nothing is simplistic enough for my brain.
Still couldn't beat Deano
Roger Alwyn would have been a middle aged bloke (wouldn't he?) at that time.
What a pilchard.
Pilchards. I like that.
Newton - found guilty a couple of months ago of burglary committed when he was drunk and high on cocaine.
Fair to say neither are particularly "classy".
From what I've heard he's still very bitter about the fact that today's modern players get paid millions whilst back in the 90s they weren't paid anywhere near as much. He feels he's owed something because of this.
Tosser!
