Oh the memories! Remember going to the clear-up with the huge bonfire (and Steve Gritt turning up); painting the gates and then the great day - with the perfect result! Hopefully the good days will return and we can once again take pride in our famous old club.
Show me the way to go home I'm tired and wanna go to bed We had decent ground a couple of years ago Now we've got this shit instead
No matter where we roam, The valley is our home. You will always hear us singing this song, Show me the way to go home.
I wasn't even alive at the time but as a bit of a history boff and someone who loves Charlton I've done a lot of reading about the campaign and this period of Charlton history.
I love that song can imagine the passion it was sung with.

I can remember it like it was yesterday, on the platform after the game against West Ham (think we won 1-0?), with us singing that and West Ham telling us where to stick the valley....... wonder what they think now with Upton park gone.....

Wow. Sounds like a great moment! Wish I experienced it.
Funny this should come up now,had abit of time on my hands this week and have been reading once again Rick,s book Battle for The Valley. Brings back to life the troubles we are going through at the moment with Roland. So many parallel lines it is unbeliveable, just as well we have so many of those fans still with us and still working hard behind the scenes. I still have a dream that come the Portsmouth match this December we will once again be free of the chains that Roland and his croonies have shackled us too since January 2014. When a book is written about this chapter in the life of Charlton it will be one for all football fans to read and understand the troubles we have been put through. One that must not be repeated by any club again.

Does anyone know whether tickets are required for this event? Or just turn up at the museum on the day?
:-)
You can stick your Sellout Park up your arse!
