Charlton FA Cup Stat

Not sure if this was mentioned on match thread/preview etc, but BBC stated that Charlton have never lost a home, 1st round FA Cup Tie.

Does anyone know how many games this is?, presumably not too many as we are traditionally a 2nd tier club.

I thought they said the stat was only involving Non-League teams?

Although going by this link: http://www.fchd.info/CHARLTOA.HTM - Other than this season and last, we've not had a Home FA Cup 1st Round tie since: 1934/35 when we drew 2-2 with Exeter City. To make it worse; Only AFC Bournemouth (70s) and Northwich Victoria are the only two sides to have beaten us in the First Round without the need for a replay

1934/95 that is a long season, we would have to continuously refresh the squad do to things like death and old age.
They didn't have transfer windows then. so it was easy to bring in new players...

True, if they did we would have had to have had three generations of Driesdens
  • The clutching-at-straws FA Cup stat. Since winning it 70 years ago (for any prospective Conservative candidates) we have been truly abysmal in this competition. I fully expect us to tank out in Round 2.
