Been working and not able to follow so no idea whether a good point gained, two lost or a fair result.

  • I will take that!! Hard place to go. Fosu is on flames!
  • Joss Stone was outstanding if that helps.

Could have been worse. Look at Rotherham, beaten at Wimbledon 3-1, letting in 2 late goals.

In fact, not one of the top 6 won - except for League leaders Shrewsbury.

  • Tough point, both teams weren't good enough to beat each other. KAG missed an awful chance in the final mins.

Not a good day for Reeves, Josh and Holmes.

Can't complain too much after winning the previous two.

Overall, it was a probably an off day for too many players.

Disappointed, that was a chance to be equal 3rd with a game in hand, and it seems we threw away a handful of chances early doors.

    I don't learn.

    RWP

Another one taken too soon. RIP
  • The stats suggest that a draw was a fair result. Indeed most teams drew tonight, so the table hasn't changed much

Shocking result for Bristol Rovers, 4-0 to Shrewsbury at half time, the sort of performance they put in against us last season!

  • Still need 2 points per game on average for promotion

    13 games
    24 points
  • A game we would have drawn last season

    Satisfying the consolidationists
  • Watched on a stream. Could have gone 2-0 up before the equaliser, but overall a treading water kind of result. An away draw is much better than a home one, but we need to do something good at Bradford now.
I will accept Reeves rather insipid contribution on the basis of easing him in, and it might even be a gee up for Clarke who improved us when he came on,
Sarr played well, but our best player to my mind was Kashi who seems to be suited to a tough midweek away game like this one was. Fosu scored, but could have been more damaging, and Holmes and Magennis didn't really worry Oxford.
Solly and da Silva contributed well, as did JFC for the first hour at least.
We move on with the knowledge that at least Oxford can't do the double over us.
  • Abysmal finishing cannot believe we threw away 2 points for the taking.
  • Take the point but not for the first time, not taking our chances has cost us the win

Hmm ... a win tonight would have put us bang on target.

  • iFollowed. Should have won, although after a good start the rest of the game was more even. The chances we had were good enough to win it. Oxford fans probably feel the same, they had a few good chances themselves.

We look comfortable on the ball and have several attacking threats. Yet without Marshall we only had one player in Clarke who might make a real difference off the bench. KAG had a chance to win it but we can't rely on him.

Doesn't change my opinion that we look like a play-off team - of course injuries and the January window could change that either way.

Hard for the lad coming on so late....but having watched him really have my doubts about whether he will make it. Obviously would love to see him become a regular in the team but....
  • The press association report on the BBC describes the match as "a high-quality clash".

As Oxford had slightly more shots than us (18 to 15), more shots on target (4 to 3) and possession was 50/50, the stats don't suggest we should have won the match.

Felt from the chances... We couldnt get it on target whilst Oxford seemed to have a lot of Churchinho's in their team, very spongefoot shooting from them
  • Sounded like it could well, and maybe should, have been more, but would be churlish to sniff at a point away at Oxford who are a good side in good form. The way this result gets perceived long term will depend a lot on Saturday. If we win at Bradford it's a great week, draw and it's about par, lose and looks a below average week.

Personally I think we can do Bradford, but need to find that clinical edge in front of goal. It's going to be the difference between automatic promotion and a play-off lottery.

Surprised about possession, thought we had much more than them - in areas that didnt hurt them.

Bradford can't be happy with a home draw to Oldham, especially after taking the lead in the 3rd minute. Amazingly they had 19 shots, only 2 which were on target, so their shooting must have been even worse than ours!

The stats though, can include everything ..... like a weak half chance which the keeper gathers effortlessly would still be counted as a "shot on target", and doesn't differentiate between a clear goalscoring chance.

Tonight it seems we had several clear goalscoring chances, of which we only took one.

  • Couple of points Id take from the last few games:

    - Becoming difficult to choose between Sarr and Konsa

    - Players need to work on their crossing / finishing / decision making

    - Need to stop messing around with Clarke and Reeves, both need to be put in the centre so they can spray the balls left / right / centre... Having them on the wings is making them too predictable
  • Sarr is in the team to stay after tonights performance.

The sad thing is I bet his wage is a huge figure on the Spreadsheet so dont expect him to be around long term

Was in the Oxford end, Oxford fan said he thought they were going to struggle to keep to a 1 goal deficit by half time but then Oxford could have been winning 2 -1 when the half time whistle went.
