We've played them very evenly so far. Should be very proud of this showing. Liverpool have Ings, Ejaria (U20 World Cup winner), Branagan (England youth international), and Harry Wilson (highly rated).

Impressive performance against a decent Liverpool side. Not sure Brannagan is a england youth player though, doubt he will be at Liverpool much longer
Not watching properly and have seen Lapslie before but is it just me that thinks he moves a bit like Scott Parker? Not afraid to put in a tackle either.

I was thinking the same, able to put his foot in and drive forward
How come KR was there when we're playing Fleetwood tomorrow?
Because today is Friday and tomorrow is Saturday, and maybe just maybe he thought after training finished this morning, I should watch this game and then travel up afterwards.
I went tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it. I think it might be true to say that Liverpool scored from their only shot on target and that was after a Beeney error, although I suspect many people watching on the stream may have noticed more Liverpool efforts. A Liverpool fan before the game reckoned Liverpool would win 4-0, they had won every game they had played so far, started with a team that had Ings and two others Brannagan and Ejaria who had had first team experience, then brought on Garcia who had also had first team experience. The Liverpool fan might well have been optimistic because they also had the guy who blazed two free kicks over, Wilson, and he has scored a shedload of goals in the last couple of seasons. Of course the game could have gone either way, it was a proper piece of sport, and a genuine contest, but we improved steadily throughout the game and played very well. I have seen a few games at this level already this season and Liverpool were several notches above teams we have played so far, it was an extremely creditable performance from Charlton, who weren't even able to put out quite the strongest side, and certainly didn't have the experience under their belts that Liverpool had. Fairchild was excellent, Liverpool fans at half time remarked upon Anderson, and if anybody couldn't see how Lapslie gives his all (he does that every game) then they are blind. We had decent moments all over the field and special mention goes to Blumberg and Bowry who were facing a tough challenge, and basically won the contest in their department. I understand it was a group cup game, and the other two sides in this group are Stoke City and Bristol City, but we got a point and can take a lot of heart from that, when comparing ourselves this evening to an outfit from a Premier League side with shedloads of money.
Good draw against a strong Liverpool side . Lapslie is a real midfield dynamo and would be in the first team if we weren't so strong in that part of pitch .

should have promoted Lapslie to the full squad, not got in Reeves & spent the stupid twerps wages on a striker.
Reeves is a very different type of player and lightyears ahead of Lapslie. Lapslie looks like he's gonna be a good un, but I don't think he's ready to play 30 games in League One yet. Don't want to Karlanise him.

Bristol City U23s beat Stoke U23s tonight, 3-1.
Thanks @GregStubley3 - enjoyed your commentary.
Like Mascoll and Lapslie. Reece played really well as did Barnes. There's a few that could definitely be bit part players. Beeney isn't one... YET

Great effort from the youngsters tonight. Lapslie is different class.
I think not wanting to pay a big fee was probably the main issue rather than wages.
