Kashi 7???????? That was a woeful performance. Honestly looked as if he was doing it on purpose. I've been singing his praises for a long time too, unfortunately the last 2 games have been piss poor from him.

iFollow Our worst performance against the best team we've played thus far. Some of it was Wigan stopping us from playing, but a lot of it looked like fatigue. The good news it we're unlikely to play that poorly too often. As Callum said, it's not that anyone was particularly awful, it's just that everyone was poor.
Amos: 7 - Don't think there was anything he could do about any of the goals. Kept us in it, especially at the start of the second half.
Solly: 5.5 - Had some good moments and some very sloppy ones.
DaSilva: 5 - At fault for the third. They had a lot of joy down his side. He was often left 2-v-1 with Byrne overlapping to cause problems and Holmes staying forward. Hopefully he'll learn from tonight.
Bauer: 6.5 - Actually thought he was decent.
Pearce: 6 - He was everywhere, clearly trying very hard against his former team. He had a lot of good moments, but sometimes he chases the ball, and that causes him to get sucked out of position. He also has this habit of playing 30 yard chipped balls forward. It's like John Terry used to do for England all of the time. It's the "I don't have any good options on so I'll just chip it forward so I don't make a mistake but I won't chip it with any clear intention or purpose" ball. Absolutely gets on my tits. He did it a lot more last year, and I think Robinson has coached it out of him.
Kashi: 5.5 - Looked tired and his passing was poor, though he still manage to get tackles in. Hasn't played twice in four days in who knows how long. Wigan players kept getting in between him and the back four. Thought Konsa looked tidy when he came on and I hope Kash is given a rest on Saturday. He's earned it.
Fosu-Henry: 5.5 - Lacked end product, but he works very hard.
Forster-Caskey: 7 - Worked incredibly hard and put himself about, and won the ball a lot as a result. He hit the underside of the bar in the first half, and if that had been a few inches lower it might have changed the dynamic of the game.
Clarke: 5.5 - Went missing in stretches, and as a result started to chase the ball a bit and get dragged out of position, leaving Mag isolated.
Holmes: 6 - Tried hard, perhaps too hard sometimes. Still looked dangerous at times despite nothing really working for him.
Magennis: 6 - Worked hard and won his fair share of headers at the end, but he was just SO isolated. It's clear there was a plan to try to get him to turn Burn and Bruce and get in behind them, but because we never got ahold of midfield we never got into good attacking positions, and as such the balls we did try to play in to him or in behind were meat and drink for Burn and Bruce. On his header from JFC's shot, Burn headed him in the back right as Josh was heading the ball. Unlucky.
Ahearne-Grant: n/a I think he touched the ball literally once.
Konsa: n/a Looked tidy and he would get into just about any other team in this league. He's got good technique and he's very rangy. He's not a sitting, defensive midfielder akin to Kashi, but he can knit things together nicely. Hope he gets a start on Saturday to give Kashi a rest.
Amos: 6 kept the score down. distribution poor Solly: 4 Poor DaSilva: 6 Thought he did ok. Good control Bauer: 5 Not one of his better days Pearce: 5 Ditto Kashi: 5 Too many misplaced passes (again) Fosu-Henry: 4 Anonymous Forster- Caskey: 6 worked hard in the middle Clarke: 5 Ineffective Holmes: 4 Poor. I use 6.5 as my baseline as a sort of "this is what you get for turning up and not fucking up." But it's like Agile points, it's all relative. My numbers here are relative to, and consistent with, the 8s and 9s I give out on good days.
Also, I don't think anyone was terrible akin to, say, Tony Watt in the first game. I just think everyone was poor, and it had a cumulative effect.
Amos: 5 I don't think he's an improvement on our first choice keeper for a few years, poor distribution and as has been said, flappy birds sums him up. Solly: 4.5 his knee simply can't take two games in that quick succession. Had we had experienced cover he wouldn't have played. DaSilva: 5 Not his best game Bauer: 5 Ditto, not his best game Pearce: 6 Battled away Kashi: 4 Assuming this is simply tired, should have been rested, Fosu-Henry: 4 Poor game today Forster-Caskey: 5 he tried Clarke: 5 he tried Holmes: 4 dropped a point for another silly booking, one more and on a ban. Magennis: 5 Games like that and against a giant, no point playing him up alone.
Amos: 5 - flaps at crosses too much but mad some good saves in the 2nd half, could've conceded more without him Solly: 4 - couldn't deal with their pace or strength DaSilva: 5.5 Bauer: 5.5 Pearce: 9 - had an amazing game, shame no other defenders did. Sitting in the West Stand near the Jimmy Seed, saw him make 3+ brilliant tackles from terrible back passes by Kashi, Bauer and DaSilva, honestly could have been 6-0 without Pearce. Kashi: 3 - awful 2nd Half Fosu-Henry: 4 Forster-Caskey: 7.5 - brilliant tackles and fighting for the ball Clarke: 5.5 Holmes: 5 - poor, but he highlighted the issues in the game, they heavily marked our key players whilst we gave their key players loads of space, even in the box. Magennis: 5 - flick-ons didn't work out much tonight, not much service though
Amos: 7 - Kept us in it for a while and came out successfully for stuff. No fault for goals. Solly: 5 - Mixed bag, thought was okay DaSilva: 5.5 - Felt like he in particular was closed down very well by Wigan Bauer: 5 - Not bad, got in behind him a few times Pearce: 6.5 - Committed and composed, made good tackles. But our defence was up against it today and let too many shots through. Kashi: 4 - Good first half, bad second. If he's knackered I back Konsa to come in for a game. Fosu-Henry: 3 - Ran about, but nothing came off with the ball at his feed Forster-Caskey: 6.5 MOM - Played the ball forward, great work rate Clarke: 5 - Struggled to get into the game too much, putting it down to Wigan pressing. Holmes: 5 - Takes too many touches, not his day, often crowded out. Magennis: 5 - Horrible service, clearly frustrated by it, but I don't think he did himself any favours with his movement. Their CBs weren't troubled by him physically.
Amos: 6.5 couple of good saves and catches Solly: 6 got the run around DaSilva: 6 same as Solly Bauer: 6 Pearce: 6.5 Kashi: 5.5 lost his head Fosu-Henry: 6 Forster-Caskey: 6 Clarke: 5.5 didn't get in the game Holmes: 7 best player again Magennis: 6
Wow Josh, 9 out of 10 for a player in defence where we let in 3 goals ...at home. !
I'd like to point you to Oh_Yoni_Boy's comment on Pearce, "Pearce: 6.5 - Committed and composed, made good tackles. But our defence was up against it today and let too many shots through."
We both agree that Pearce played a standard above that of the rest of the defence. Yoni felt that this warranted a 6.5, but I felt his performance was still exceptional despite the rest of his defenders, hence my score of 9.
It's all about our opinions and you clearly can't accept several people's on here.
We'd appreciate it if you didn't make these comments on a thread for player marks, and baiting others to respond to them. Please stick to marks only. (Apologies for not doing this myself on this occasion).

Surely 5 is the "turning up and not fucking up" score ? If 6.5 is that number then we should be grading players out of 13!
