A team wears an away shirt away from home. Couldn't make it up!
It's a change shirt.
Teams should wear their own colours whenever possible IMHO
It's the away shirt pal. Teams should wear their home shirt at home and away shirt away IMHO.
Disagree.
Own colours when ever possible.
If not wear the change strip.
Charlton should always play in red unless there is a colour clash.
Why?
Because that is the colour chosen by the founders of the club in 1905 and it represents the history and tradition of the club. Our colours are our colours although I feel the same applies to other clubs. Bristol Rovers play in blue and white quarters and they should wear that when they play a team in red like Charlton.

Cos he said so.
Same as you then
Did our founding fathers not choose an away kit?
As in non-league now there would have been clashes and team would have had to work around it. Remember the boys, not fathers but boys and that is a very significant element of our foundation, had to club together to buy a ball so I doubt they had a change kit as it would have been until they were more established.
By the late 1930s and for the cup final in 1947 the change kit was white shirts and black short but some 1920s kits show half the team in the change kit. It's a black and white photo so hard to tell but could be yellow and black or yellow and blue.
The almost unbroken link to the first shirts, bought from a department store in Woolwich, is that they are red.
Cos if you know your history it's enough to make your heart go woah ooh ooh
I think all home teams should wear black and all away teams wear white.
All stadium seats should be grey so as not to clash with the kits.
All clubs will be sponsored by the same generic lager.
They should all run on the pitch to the same 'theme' music, it will be written by Chaz and Dave and be the same for every club except for one word - the name of the team (even if it has too many syllables and stops the song from rhyming).
Bryan Adams will sing the theme song in his unique passionate way - he will be just as passionate for Dagenham and Redbridge as he will be about Newcastle United.
All teams should have the same badge, two jaguars fighting over an iPod to symbolise the heroic arguments grown men have on football forums.
I am very angry about anyone disagreeing with me on this.
I'm sure the "thinking" behind wearing a blue kit at Norwich is around selling shirts but realistically how many people are going to see the kit there or in the 90 seconds of TV coverage and how many of them will be swayed to such a purchase? It looks daft for teams to turn up in any old colour when they play away, especially in the lower leagues when the audience is so small. Most of those susceptible to spunking £50-odd on a polyester t-shirt with built in obsolescence will do so as soon as they go on sale. The current merch seems to have been depressingly popular Playing in red is intrinsic to the club's identity and I'd bet is more beneficial to the club in the medium to longer term than a couple of shirt sales and the few pence they actually earn. Of course as soon as this fucktard regime can be replaced I'll be straight down the clubshop to drape myself in as much CAFC regalia and merch as I can - and that will include any away or 3rd shirts where I like the designs.
could be there is a shortage of red/white CAFC logoed shirts .. either that or there is a surplus of the grey/blue thing and the manufacturers are keen to have a stock clearance and need all the publicity they can get .. either way, the team will be in the 2nd (or is it 3rd) strip at the Millers, where we'll look the dusty ones in that VERY drab blue n grey ensemble
We play in red and we should change when playing away against a team where there is a clash of kit. To be honest the blue at Plymouth was more of a clash than if we'd stuck with red. Daft.
Since pre season started the U23s have played in Nike first two matches, then all white or White, black, white. No red strip available yet for them. They played home lge match against Barnsley at the valley in White recently.
It would help if our goalkeepers wore there green kit when we play wearing the away kit as the purple kit causes a bit of a colour clash, as last night Phillips changed to green kit at half-time.

We also have a yellow goalkeeper kit, which wasn't worn last night for obvious reasons

A team not wearing red came out to boos from our fans only for us to realise it was Charlton. Think Michael Paye made his debut that day.

Is the illuminati symbol still there?
Anyone else see the illuminati symbol in our 1920s logo?
Thanks.
