Whatever the result..... For the sake of moaning about the poor state of the English football set up I would just like the point out that the German U21 couch is a formal very successful professional player starting out in a management career, compared to England's very average player and management career offering.

Have seen Abraham play a number of times and I don't really rate him as highly as some pundits do. Missed a fair few pens for the Chelsea U21s too so a weird choice.

Typical everyone goes right and scores. The player it hinges on puts it where the keeper dived every time.

Abraham that result was on you. You got us to 2-1 but you threw away your penalty so softly.

    Unlucky pal.

Only watched the final 40 mins of the match but Redmond looked poor to me in that time.

Heck of a lot of pressure on the lad but as they say, his body language looked suspect as he shaped up to take his pen.

The customary two awful penalties. Could tell Redmond would miss just by looking at him waiting to take it.

On the flip side we scored 3 lovely pens saved one and almost saved 2 others.

Play badly against Germany. Lose in normal time or on penalties.

Really don't get it. Every player should have a decent penalty in him that he's practised to death. Not picking on these lads, we're now in three decades nearly of being shit at penalties - when you get beyond the first five and you've got centre backs taking them etc, there's a bit of an excuse, but your strikers and midfielders, just learn it to the point that you know in January that if there's a penalty shoot out in June and you have to take one, you've got a penalty in your back pocket that you've practised so much that it'll take a hell of a save to stop it.
