I think that deal would suit both parties. Just aslong as we got promoted first season. In saying that if Benty went to the gooners scored 25 goals for them and we didn't get promoted hes value would have rocketed.
Imagine though, playing under Wenger, how much he could improve as a player. Learning from Thierry Henry, playing alongside him every week. He scores goals, his value goes up to £20m+ and europes elite start sniffing round. As long as we get Bendtner on loan for a year in return, then its great business.
We don't need 12m to spend on a CCC squad. Ok we may need 4/5 million but we still have players who are capable of doing a good enough job to get us back in the permiership.
Therefore if Bent DID go on loan to Arsenal, we would be able to keep song I reckon. So thats saved us money for a new midfielder. If Bent had a good season at Gooners, hes value would almost double (look at berbatov for example he won't leave for less than 20million now).
We may miss out on say 9m or so but with the saving on Song and Bent potentially becoming a better player with hes value increasing, we can't loose.

Hasn't Song been released?
Anyway, what a lot of people are forgetting is that Arsenal would have to pay us a fee to loan Bent. That could be the £5m everyone's saying we need.

Not even Ars*nal would be that stupid. Even if his value did soar, a condition of the loan would be that they would demand that any future transfer fee would be agreed now and not in twelve months time.
Of all the clubs wanting Bent, I think Ars*nal would suit him best. I really do.
The reason its such a "unique" suggestion is that nobody in their right mind would let their most prized asset go on loan anywhere, ever.
What if he has a crap season and sits on the bench and we don't go up? Then his value would probably drop significantly. There is also no way anyone would pay 10 million for a season on loan, what crap.
No thanks Arsene, tell you what though, why don't you let Real Madrid take Henry on loan for a year and see if they want to buy him in 2008?

if we could take henry, gallas, clichy, toure, silva and fabregas on loan.
I would take that with both hands, would rather see Benty play for the Gooners than the Spuds...

we need the cash
as the esteemed AFKA says 'we need the money'. He will be sold to the highest bidder and imo it will be Liverpool.
I agree. Liverpool are crying out for a poacher in the Fowler or Owen mould and Darren Bent fits the bill.
Ha, excellent.
and so true
