Hated it, absolutely despised it, on the radio. Have been avoiding it on telly.

I enjoyed Detectorists - it slipped past my radar until someone told me about it and it was great. That was a proper gentle comedy - far too much these days where you just cringe, and I'm afraid Count Arthur Strong falls into that category.

And why are the BBC paying loads of money for cringeworthiness while the Palace Ultras have a youtube channel?

The radio version is fantastic. Didn't convert to TV well IMO.
