Conversation with Katrien on Facebook - ground developments?

I don't want to go over old ground, concerning RD and KM, players purchases and lies etc, but there are a few interesting ground related things here
1) That the South Stand is becoming unsafe
2) Moving Away fans into the East stand
3) New Dugouts - certainly our existing ones don't reach PL standards (not that that particularly matters!)
Is there any truth in any of this from what others have heard?
Please don't say your on drugs or mad but I am prepared to give them another chance after speaking to Katrien on the train last night! She said to myself and Jon Whitfield this has been a long season and our current position in the league shows that 12 more points would of seen us fighting for play offs.
Now if what Karl Robinson said about players not caring is true then you can't blame her or Roland. It's not uncommon for owners to loan money to a club one being Bournemouth and the second to my astonishment is Chelsea! Both owners are only loaning money to the club.
I don't think we were ever in any danger of being relegated as there is so much s*** below us an us crying for a new owner doesn't mean the new mob will come in with good intentions. Yes they've made some disastrous decisions in management and transfers but from speaking to her next season will be a good one.
I said look what £3m did when we won League 1?!? She smiled nodded and said "I know an next season we will be buying the best players in League 1"
Other things discussed was moving away fans into the east stand empty blocks and giving both stands behind the goals back to home fans. In addition to this, she said their are plans to build a new south stand but this isn't in their immediate plans. She said a new construction is important as the stand is becoming unsafe. One last point on the stadium is the construction of new dug outs for 2017/18 which will ready in August.
Look at Coventry & Leyton Orient be careful what you wish for an it's better to have the devil you know than the one you don't. We've got one game left so let's support Karl and the team and finish the season off.
This summer will be telling on what players are bought in, kept and released. In my opinion it's time to support the club because in many ways I now look at Katrien and think f*** me she has some bollocks to take all this abuse and carry on.

Don't worry about the south stand - it's only for away fans anyway.

Away fans to the east stand shocks me because that's where I sit, and presumably access and any segregation would cost a fortune.
Karl Robinson likes to have a dug out behind the linesman in order to, ahem, influence him, so this might be happening, and the home/away areas will change, although it will probably be kitted out with sofas.
The South Stand being unsafe is possibly a red herring in order to build the residentials there and create a different possibly smaller area 9I have seen Rolands stadium at Stayen and it is both pitiful, and the design with competitive football in mind stinks to high heaven, it really really is crap, the experience at Kingstonian/Wimbledon is better.
if they want to do something decent with the Valley then make the north lower a standing area.
Examine the rules regarding league one clubs, get on to the footballing licence authorities, consult with Celtic and Bristol Rovers and German Clubs and Liverpool and Forest supporter groups too, get Efford on board, get the council on board, become a pilot scheme whilst in this division, throw some extra resources at safety and get the North lower going, to try for some atmosphere.
There you go Katrien, Cojones, Rubashow, Joynes, Duchatelet. A fecking good idea from a fan, but it will take some intelligent effort, so youse lot won't be able to handle it.6 -

I don't want to go over old ground, concerning RD and KM, players purchases and lies etc, but there are a few interesting ground related things here
1) That the South Stand is becoming unsafe IT'S THE JIMMY SEED STAND FFS
2) Moving Away fans into the East stand If the police allow it which I doubt even in league 1
3) New Dugouts - certainly our existing ones don't reach PL standards (not that that particularly matters!) Actually the right time to do it when the crowds are low as can move people but not really addressing the key issues here
Is there any truth in any of this from what others have heard? Please don't say your on drugs or mad but I am prepared to give them another chance after speaking to Katrien on the train last night! She said to myself and Jon Whitfield this has been a long season and our current position in the league shows that 12 more points would of seen us fighting for play offs. And it my auntie had bollocks she'd be my uncle. Fact is we didn't get 12 more points
Now if what Karl Robinson said about players not caring is true then you can't blame her or Roland.(Yes you can, they signed those players without scouting them properly, made them promises about going for promotion they didn't mean and sacked the manager) It's not uncommon for owners to loan money to a club one being Bournemouth and the second to my astonishment is Chelsea! Both owners are only loaning money to the club. And both clubs are doing very well in the premiership unlike Charlton and I'm not even sure that is true about Chelsea.
I don't think we were ever in any danger of being relegated (yes we were as using Meire's own logic if we had 12 fewer points etc etc )as there is so much s*** below us an us crying for a new owner doesn't mean the new mob will come in with good intentions. (true but then that is down to Roland to ensure they have good intentions not just the ability to pay what he wants Yes they've made some disastrous decisions in management and transfers but from speaking to her next season will be a good one. (She has said that every year. Did she never read the story of the boy who cried wolf
I said look what £3m did when we won League 1?!? She smiled nodded and said "I know an next season we will be buying the best players in League 1" (Said that for this season - didn't happen and didn't work.)
Other things discussed was moving away fans into the east stand empty blocks (They would have to give them 3,000 seat ie half the stand not just two empty blocks, they're are all sorts of access and police issues too. It's not going to happen and she knows it.)and giving both stands behind the goals back to home fans. In addition to this, she said their are plans to build a new south stand IT'S THE FUCKING JIMMY SEED STAND but this isn't in their immediate plans. She said a new construction is important as the stand is becoming unsafe. (What does she mean "becoming"? either it is safe or it isn't and if it isn't she needs to act now)
One last point on the stadium is the construction of new dug outs for 2017/18 which will ready in August. Good idea, right time to do it as so many empty seats to move people to but not the most pressing issue
Look at Coventry & Leyton Orient be careful what you wish for an it's better to have the devil you know than the one you don't. We've got one game left so let's support Karl and the team and finish the season off. Usual nonsense. The problem at those clubs WAS the devil they knew ie their crappy owneres just like here
This summer will be telling on what players are bought in, kept and released. In my opinion it's time to support the club (it's always the time to support the club, what does this mean?) because in many ways I now look at Katrien and think f*** me she has some bollocks to take all this abuse and carry on. Yes, give her credit for taking the stick but she gets it because she is a very expensive failure at her job just like boss. She actually thinks she is doing a good job FFS

Out of all that i'd bet this will be the only thing that actually happens! Shit team but we'll have great dug outs.killerandflash said:Just saw this on Facebook

I would not be totally surprised if RD actually spent this next year. He might actually be realizing after this season that relegation costs more than the transfers necessary for a promotion fight.
There is precedent.
The owner of Newcastle is very much like RD and he hates to lose money. But after being relegated last year he realized that it actually costs less to get back up than the amount you lose in enterprise value by being relegated. So he changed course, spent a ton this offseason and they are going right back up to the PL.
The counter-argument to this "new leaf" theory is the fact that RD has no idea how to actually win and does not realize that you must lose a LOT of money to do so. Cost cutting and "going-up" are negatively correlated.3 -
Well i still think they'll be here next year.0
-
I agree that the dugouts are the only change likely to happen (and that obviously the player stuff is impossible to believe based on what's happened before)
At some point theSouthJimmy Seed stand will need to be rebuilt, but that would be a major development, presumably clearing the existing banking. IF away fans had part of the East Stand, I can't see how they could access it, they'd presumably they'd have to go in via Landsdowne Mews which sounds unlikely to be allowed by the Police1 -
I think they will be here another season.2
-
I thought that the club had said that they were 'doing up' the Jimmy seed stand last year sometime ?
Remember people talking about the framing they were going to put around new disabled seating in the stand...
Glad to see the club told the truth0 -
be careful what you wish for an it's better to have the devil you know than the one you don't.
Oh dear............the laziest argument ever crafted for sitting on your hands and saying and doing nothing whilst Duchatelet systematically and cynically sets about turning Charlton into a clone of Sint Truiden with his in-house call centres, conference suites and dining areas etc.
Surely, the raison d'etre of any football club is to seek progression within the pyramid league structure -. It is called ambition - the rest follows on.
Duchatelet rather reverses that concept and openly (in the case of Sint Truiden) makes light of footballing ambition and condescendingly tells their fans (and by extension us) to concentrate instead on the match day experience, a beer and a post-match dance.
And you say be careful what you wish for................bollocks!

New dugouts........ With sofas, not seats?0

Anyone remember the fan who was told he couldn't have his season ticket as he posted nasty things about the club on social media?
This is that same fella.
Unreal.28 -

I stopped reading there.
12 more points last season would've saved us from relegation.
But it's too late and the reason we didn't get those 12 points this season or last was consistent failure of Roland and his cronies.4 -
PS changing the dugouts is like changing the goal nets. Oh wait.2

Such a dull thread (again). Nearly end up season I guess0

I can't help but think of the phrase "...and pigs might fly".1

Best players in L1, where was this money in January?0

Sofas in the dugouts :-)0

What @Henry Irving said. Sell the club. Your time is up Katrien.4

I can see our friends in SE9 being delighted with any decision to shut the Jimmy Seed Stand for "safety reasons" and rehouse the spanners in the empty blocks of the east and west stands should they not go up.2

Most things written on Facebook have less standing in the world of facts than most things written in the Daily Star.8

Jimmy seed development = flats in the corners7
-
Exactly. They have a plan to build flats on the Jimmy Seed end. Keohane went to Orient with a Dutch architect a year ago to look at what they've done for exactly that reason. Force them out before they get the chance, because they cannot be trusted. Ever.Todds_right_hook said:Jimmy seed development = flats in the corners

And this is why I do not want the club sold, but RD retaining ownership of the ground.9

Utter bollox. Beggars belief that someone would make comments like this public, let alone believe it.2
-
Fucking hell. She'll say anything on a train away from a camera. She can say whatever she likes to us because a) she has no decision making authority whatsoever b) she has no accountability whatsoever (either to us or RD), c) she's safe in the knowledge that if challenged she can either go silent or respond with a flimsly prepared Rubashow sound bite
3 wins and draw from 4 games and out come the deluded - not you @killerandflash , I'm referring to the FB comment
Of course she can talk about investment and change and doing things right. Fact remains they haven't done the right things since they've got here
Just sell the club19 -
Ok so now there is f@ck all to play for and the ownership/manager/team have failed us we need to get behind them? Sorry facebook bloke, your opinion is out of touch with reality even if you end with a rallying Churchillesque Up the Addicks2

Surely for access reasons and the fact it has a shared concourse let alone segregating seating, having away fans in the easy stand would be nearly impossible and majorly expensive.
We all know what they want to do with the Jimmy south stand.
Dugouts are needed anyway. Can't fit half of Karl's coaches on there let alone physio etc and subs..
Also stop talking about seating I'm getting adverts for fold up gym seats on this page ffs.2
