If you keep saying, 'Nothing is happening' you will keep being right, until something does happen, at which point there'll be so much excitement no-one will care.
My sources tell me that nothing is happening and neither they nor me have ever been wrong.
Championship Wigan sold to a HK based company for £22M. Based on last couple of years' accounts, it looks like Wigan AFC costs about £2M per month to run. Just the difference in league status, must mean that roly's toxic pantomime (FKA Charlton Athletic) can't be worth anything like his mooted £25M. Half? At best? Shoots a massive hole in his drivel about running costs as a barrier to sale. Wibble. roly you're a preposterous, deluded/dishonest (select based on your personal grievance), manbaby, who might imagine a price for everything but knows the value of precisely fuck all, just relinquish control of the club to whomsoever offers you any folding €uros and fuck off out of our lives for ever. Everybody wins.
All that guff about you caring to whom you transfer the club is the sleaziest lie you've told us - and there's loads to choose from.
Why I am sceptical about the Saudis - or at least about the extent of any such interest - is threefold. Firstly, Duchatelet was, from the outset, sceptical that the Australians had the money (he is on record saying this back in 2017) and the long-running nature of their approach would be enough to raise significant doubts anyway. In that context, it is very hard to believe that he would bat away a genuine well-resourced approach from the Middle East in favour of the Aussies unless there was a very substantial difference in any offer.
Secondly, Redhenry and others linked the Bristol Rovers chairman Steve Hamer to the Saudis - Hamer is a big red flag as far as some who have dealt with him before concerning Charlton are concerned. I'm told that when he approached the club previously (about ten years ago) the person he was purportedly representing turned out to be in prison at the time.
Thirdly, while we've heard repeatedly from Murray, LDT and Duchatelet about the supposed British interest that they say agreed a price back in February, we have never heard from any of them about Saudis - or a group that could be them - at any point.
I'm not saying that what has been brought here has been reported in anything other than good faith, just that I don't think the evidence suggests that they were as close to buying the club as has been claimed.
Murray was the Saudis first choice, they thought this would get the fans on side

His delusion seems to know no bounds...if (big if) we get promoted then he might get £40m (IMO) as we'll be one step close to the promised land and income will be increased. But £70m+ for a Championship club....don't think so.
If we get promoted we are back in the position we were when he bought us, where does the additional millions of value come from? must be the new Vista lounge and the trenches at the training ground.

Goodness me he is unbelievably delusional. 70/75mil for us as a Championship club, madness. I mean, Cellino sold Leeds for £45mil with an additional £8.5mil over the next 8 years. So how can we be worth £20mil more than Leeds in the Championship?!
If he does spend in January to get in additional players to be promoted, that’s great but really it’ll be “you can have 20% of any money brought in from selling Aribo, Fosu, Grant etc” that is much more RD.
Surely if we spend in January then we'll go over FFP as isnt that why we were forced to sell Konsa?
Was Konsa in this current financial year or the last?
The sale was in 2017/18 - it had to be to make the FFP criteria for L1. They also had to have the money up front for it to count in that calculation, which is why there was a discount for cash.
It smells as if they only realised this late on - having no finance director - or were prepared to leave that as a problem for the Aussies, whom they had assumed would have taken over by then.
There is a figure rolling around of £58m for the club at present. It sounds as if Redhenry has heard it too, but to be honest it might as well be £500m for all the chance he has of getting it. Duchatelet has given lower figures previously though.
A London club with a modern stadium will always be worth more than Wigan, other things being equal, not least because of the land prices.
If (and a big if) he now plans to "spend" to get in the championship, in order to get a higher figure, to the sums add up? Extra wages and fees (which I'm under no delusion will be significant), plus more significantly bankrolling the monthly losses until at least May (and we all know how long these things drag out). He just needs to cut his losses now and stop being so stubborn.
He’s rich enough to be able to hold his ground. The reality is that he doesn’t need to sell and despite his quoting that he wants out there is nothing in his actions to really support the view other than the club being on the market. Had it been a genuine attempt to sell and at a realistic price then it would have I think been sold by now. His price and intransigence is totally off this planet so to all intents and purposes he’s not intent on selling.
I didn’t until very recently think he was not selling to make a point to fans and others that he was right all along but the latest comments that he’s now thinking he can get us promoted and sell for even more prove to me that that’s exactly what he’s doing.
He wants out but only strictly on his and his alone terms.
Who on earth is advising the senile old scrote? What is he basing such a ridiculous figure on? I thought he said he wanted out and that the price was not important? Even more confused now.
I think if he did back bowyer in January transfer window we will go up bowyers best manager we’ve had since curbs.
Maybe with time, but Powell spend very little and we won league 1 with the record points total and backed it up with a 9th Place finish in Championship
Yeah there is some way to go before we can say Bowyer is as good as Powell.
Powell built a League One record breaking team on about £2m and then got us to 9th the following season with little to nothing to spend the preceding summer.
If Bowyer can get us promoted under Roland and then have us mid table the following season in the Championship, then he’s in the conversation for best manager since Curbs.
What we must remember though is the fact we must have gotten Wright-Phillips dirt cheap from Plymouth because of their financial difficulties
i.e. he'd already scored 12-goals that season, when you compare him with other Strikers who have scored goals at this level before moving on, few have gone as cheapily so one missing piece of the puzzle was already added for Powell and with a bit of luck in that respect as cant imagine Rhodes or Evans (who scored the same amount the next season) going for so little despite the latters issues in the end
Powell did have a decent budget to create a good L1 team and squad. Not an enormous budget, but a good one, and he was also free of most of the dead wood too, which freed up wages. Bowyer has many players on decent Championship wages, which must be restricting his transfer dealings - nothing against Sarr or Igor, but they are on very high wages for players who aren't 1st choice.
What can't be criticised is Powell's transfer dealing, he had an incredibly good strike rate that summer

This time in 5 years it will be after promotion when lurking in the relegation zone of the Championship "Roland is still asking for £75m and now thinks he can get £100m if in the premier league so is going to spend big (some out of contract ex Wigan players) to get promotion".
In 20 years after fluking promotion to the top flight and facing relegation after gaining only 2 points by Christmas "Roland is still asking for £38 BILLION but thinks he can get £88 billion if we qualify for the dubai super winners champions league cup so is going to spend big and tempt 43 year old Rooney away from his job at an Eastbourne retirement home to secure qualification.
Charlton fans are rumoured to be hopeful at these developments on page 12,3792357 of the Sale of Charlton thread with forum moderator @AFKABartram, 87, stating it'll be soon".

How often do we actually pay a fee for someone ?
But Holmes and Magennis have both been sold.
How many of the others were paid for on the last financial year.
