Had planned to go tonight, only for pc Palmer but not going to make it unfortunately. Having poxy chemotherapy cream treatment on a couple of 'bits' for skin cancer so can't face the hour journey sitting in the car............gutted (not even for my beloved Charlton) but for the family of our brave copper!! I'm sure all you going tonight will give him the send off he really deserves!!! COYR....................
Should be a moving, memorable occasion and the club will show what they are capable of i tribute. The match is probably irrelevant hut anyway here goes 1-1.
ITV just did a report on what is planned this evening. Very good idea to field Matt Baker, the Club chaplain. I have never come across him before, but heard only good things, especially from @rikofold, and thought he spoke very well.
Sorry to hear the attendance sounds like it won't be so impressive. I had a different impression from posts here but I guess it shows that CL is mainly representative of the core support. But if we can get past 12,500 it will be more than 25% up on recent average gates, and that would feel significant.
They are not looking anything very special. Probably a bit more than a normal midweek, especially recently, but unless there is going to be an unmanageable walk-up I would dial down the expectations.
Was always going to be the case. The club couldn't overly promote it otherwise it would look like acting in self interest.
In hindsight, I think us as fans and various supporters groups could have done more to swell the crowds but it's such a sensitive and emotionally charged situation it was always going to be difficult.
There are 10 or so of us all returning to our old season ticket seats tonight for the first time and that means a lot personally.
That's the sad thing. I wouldn't have minded the club going hell for leather and doing everything they can to promote this one. Would've loved to have seen some serious numbers to honour Keith's memory. This is one night all the nonsense takes a back seat and it should just be about one man
