  • Before you go on any further. i work with direct labour and work with contractors. Some of our better contractors have been invited to enjoy the substantial benefits as you put it of being employed.

They have declined because in their words lose out as it meant paying proper tax and ni contributions. Where else can you save 6k on a 29k pick up truck, if employed you cant.

As usual everyone else is wrong and Chippy is right.

Chippy, if being self-employed is the stress-free wonderland of tax wheezes, 2pm sign offs and retiring at 40 with a million in the bank you are making it out to be, then why doesn't everyone do it?

Thanks at last you bow to the king.

As usual fiish is right and no-one else is allowed an opinion. And make sure if you do it agrees with him. I said 30 not 40.

    You didn't answer my question.

You seem to be basing your entire view of self-employment on one mate who has a successful carpet business and the fact you once saw a plumber in the pub on a Tuesday afternoon. I'd hate to be the one to break this to you but there are more than 2 self employed people in the UK and the vast majority of them have never met you.
  • Read all my posts dont cherry pick em... I have stated how i bow to those that are brave enough to go alone.. All i hear is those working 7 days a week struggling to meet their committments... That doesn't happen to the other side does it.

.. I see a different side every day....

You are absolutely right of vourse as always.
  • I answered your question to your mate kents question pages ago... Do keep up.
  • Chippy's posts are slowly degenerating into unintelligible messes. All I can assume is 1, he's an idiot or 2, he's trolling, or even 3, both

In fairness, my plumber, sorry he hates that, central heating engineer dontcha know, would think something was very wrong indeed if he wasn't in the pub by noon at the latest.
