He had a reasonable career after leaving us, but not as good as perhaps he would have wanted. He seemed to suffer from a lot more injuries after leaving us (in a reverse of what happens these days!)

Anthony Barness was the first player to play for the first team that was younger than me. In my heart of hearts I knew it was bound to happen one day, and that I was destined never to play for Charlton (not through lack of ability of course, I just never got spotted...), but he still shattered my dreams. Damn you Barness...
Me and my father played golf with Scott a couple of years ago and can confirm he was a top bloke.
I bumped into him at the Football League Awards last May and he made a point of coming over, having a photo with me and asking me how the golf was going and how my Dad was. Genuinely nice man and very complimentary about Charlton.
Proper burst my bubble though when I asked how much of a ballache it was flying out to Spain every weekend for Revista but he told me it was all filmed in Middlesex...nothing was as it seemed!
