Failure to strike in January

Two quotes from Karl Robinson's press conference today which the club have been eager to Tweet. "We've got some of the best strikers in the league" and "the team have found it hard to reach two goals in game all season." A tad contradictory but at least he's acknowledging there is a problem, one which he should have been able to address in the January window unless he wasn't supported by Duchatelet or else he believes we really do have some of the best strikers in the league, in which case I am assuming he will use his managerial skills to prove that as the season progresses. My money is on him telling us one day that he wasn't supported in the transfer window in terms of his striking requirements having sold both Lookman and Ajose.

  • No manager has been supported in the right way by the Belgian.
  • We've got some of the best strikers in the League, but none of them feature in the top 15 scorers in the division.

Karl, why don't you actually tell it like it is - "we've got one of the least creative midfields in the division" would be a more meaningful explanation for our current situation.

We have some of the best strikers in the league but two have only recently returned from injury, one recalled from loan in January was unfit, another now plays for Swindon and a further one for St Truiden. Not to mention selling the best striker we have had in years.
