Henry are any of the programs (first team) from the 80s onwards worth anything?
Basically, no. Postponed games, minor cups or friendlies might be harder to get and so more valuable but £1 each would be generous IMHO
You might get something for a Man Utd or Arsenal programme but so many people kept them thinking they would be valuable that they aren't.
@Carl Leaburn is the man to ask about this but Paul Baker, one of the museum trustees and one of the biggest collectors says even 50s and earlier programmes are going down in price.
Still a market for pre WW2 stuff and rare or unusual stuff still goes for £100s. Shirts and medals seem to be going for more but I'm not an expert.
Personally i think it's about demographics. People born in the 1970s buy items from their youth and they now have disposable income (some of them) so 80s shirts are sort after
@Charltonparklane If you have any reserve programs mentioning or featuring a player called Armitage I would be grateful if you could private me. His son would be very interested in them.
Give me some more detail IE first name, years played etc and I will have a look in the museum's record. We have reserve match diaries as well as programmes. @StrikerFirmani
Thanks @HenryIrving . First name was Stan and nickname 'Ticky' , I know he was at the club before the war and played season 1946. Son is abroad at the moment but when he returns I will get the exact dates he was at CAFC.
KHA - Henry is spot on. Ebay has meant there are millions of programmes available and lots of bargains to be had for buyers. 50s programmes have reduced dramatically over the years and even 40s Charlton home programmes can be picked up cheap (all relative of course). Charlton were always a big match day producer so more are likely to survive. Certain away clubs are a lot harder to find and as such the price is inflated. Tough I would caveat this with there are some rare and sort after modern issues. Ebay is always a good price indicator.
Thought this was just going to be a thread about doing work round the house. Was gonna be like "fair play to you" and grumble to myself about how you've reminded me of how much work round the house I have to do.
I got rid of loads of programmes a couple of years ago, only kept the ones of interest. Also got a job lot of shirts from the 90s and 00s. can't believe I ever fit into some of them, reckon I'd struggle if I made a new shirt or off all the fabric
Also got loads of Votv, GH, other fanzines and various merchandise. Will sort it out sometime and let you know Henry if anything of interest.
Also got endless newspaper clippings and so many videos... was our club once.. .

Henry, Ive had assurances from Sailor Brown's daughter that when this lot are gone she has some interesting pieces for the museum (loan). But sadly not until they are.

So you don't want any of mine for the Museum? I wouldn't want to be bothered going through them but I'm happy to donate them all. I might have some that are a little rare, and there are one ir two that I's probably want to keep but all the rest are just filling up my loft and under stairs cupboard.
@HenryIrving do you want ticket stubs? I assume not but probably still have a load from the '80's or 90's sitting in the loft somewhere. Also have panini stickers of the team back in those days too?
@everyoneelse please donate all your retro shirts to the museum so I can buy them from there! (Henry, do you sell them all on eBay or privately?)

Does anyone know if there was a first or reserve team game on 27/12/1945 at all and if so does anyone have a programme they want to sell me... Would make a cool birthday present..
Henry, will dig out the bits and use it as an excuse to go to the museum...long overdue.

We've got all the VOTV and GBH (first ever appearance of Henry Irving in first issue) but any other fanzines and merchandise we'd be interested in.
Official videos we've got but any Finches videos or things taped off the telly we'd like to see and any paper clippings are good.
Fans photos or home made stuff are great and any badges we'd love to see (well I'd like to see them).
