Marco Silva: Hull City appoint ex-Sporting & Olympiakos boss

Not seen it here yet, but Hull have followed the "appoint a foreign manager with no experience of England" route to relegation...

He was seen as a rising star at Olympiakos. It'd be hard for them to do much worse. The three managers at the top of the table had a combined eight months of Premier League experience coming in to this season.

Putting honest English talent like Mike Phelan out of work
  • Think he could have been a good appointment at a stable mid-table team.

    Hull aren't that.

I think it's a bit different coming in during the summer to manage a team full of world class international players like Hazard, Aguero and Coutinho, than coming in during the season to manage a team full of honest journeymen and flops, and save them from relegation

Remi Garde is a better comparison

we will see .. I am surprised for example that Beethoven Wagner has so far been a success at Huddersfield, admittedly in a lower division

I can see Silva and Zola sharing the same taxi before the end of the season.

He's got an interesting win percentage at all his other clubs... Sporting and especially Olympiacos are going to be obvious because the Leagues are so limited in terms of rival sides yet also did well with Estoril

    And thats down
Youve got to have known the league surely
    Give him 10 games
What these clubs need is stable owners like us who give their managers time like us
And dont keep firing like us
Roland buy up the premier league

Olympiakos have won the greek league in something like 17-18 of the last 20 years, even Karel Fraeye would lead them to the title.
