Mission Impossible?

The i newspaper today reports that as well as selling 50% of his ownership of Leeds, Massimo Cellino has finally met his match with Gary Monk.

It is reported that.......... 'Monk, who became the 7th manager in less than 3 years of Cellino's stewardship when he was appointed in June, has secured greater stability than his predecessors by surrounding himself with a greater number of football professionals and refusing to tolerate the Cellino sycophants, who effectively became spies for him at the Thorp Arch training ground.'

Unless Karl Robinson dispenses with Chris O'L at Sparrows Lane and bars Thomas Driesen from the player recruitment committee on which he undoubtebly sits can he really feel that comfortable with the set-up behind the scenes as he tries to steer Charlton towards a play-off berth at the very least?

Even if he had the will to accomplish the above he would still be forced to watch on as Katrien Meire grins her way through the latest deal (she told Jim White ".....to be fair I love doing the deals")..................OMG!

  • It's a strange business. It seems that most, if not all, of the managers have been hindered by an appalling SMT. The only way a manager has a chance of redressing the balance is by doing incredibly well against the odds. If KR wins 10 in a row now, it will strengthen his position although there is no guarantee of that, of course.
  • Monk should put Thuram in goal.
  • Robinson has already sussed Meire out, which isn't hard to be fair
