Saw the 6-4 Plymouth at home our keeper (Think Frank Reed was in goal for an injured Willie Duff) played in blue, defences were on top in both games
Previous season we won 5-2 at home and lost 4-6 away!
Old football scores make me think it was a lot more exciting back in the day!
Rush goalies and jumpers for goalposts
'W' formation 2-3-5 emphasis was on up and at em and score as many as you can more than the opposition. My first recollection of a different formation in British football was the continental 4-2-4 which Wet Spam adopted early 60's and then 4-3-3 by Sir Alf Ramsay for England in 1966.
9 goals we've scored against Bristol Rovers this season.
Have we ever put more past a team in one season ?
Not more but I seem to recall that we do score or concede a lot against Rovers - in 78/79, for example, we scored 8 against them including a 5-5 at their place!

I seem to recall a 4-1 at Upton Park and a 4-2 in 2009 as well.

And a 4-0 at home in our relegation season of 79-80
Can well believe the Middlesbrough mention.....Christ alive we had some high scoring games against them at one time......with the late great Brian Clough scoring plenty for Boro, including a superb hatrick at The Valley on one occasion (if my memory serves me)........Happy Days!

One of them was a 6-6 draw if I remember correctly.
