First post. Was on into the valley forum for a while, deactivated my account due to the amount of so called Charlton fans wanting the belgiums to succeed because of their dislike of card.. would you believe it! What has our club come too I ask you? Smellwall would have had similar owners out by now. We are Charlton we need fresh ideas to rid these awful owners. Personally, I feel we need mass pitch invasions now to get our point across. Problem is whatever we try they seem unable to crack and due to stay aways we cant muster the numbers and some idiotic fans have turned against card. Yes we are getting to them this is more evident recently, but each week month season year that goes by we are loosing thousands of fans, if they aren't out very soon, same scenario will happen as to when we left the valley ie thousands never returned when we got back home. Yes, 3-4 years is a lot less in comparison with our exile if we get rid soon, however, even 3-4 years of this shocking mismanagement of our club has already had affect on potentially an entire generation of support new and old alike. Mass demonstration by 1000 odd fans in Belgium is needed now also imo, this combined with keeping the English press up to speed on situation, we will win. We all know the lies we and RD have been told by our lovely CEO, so this needs addressing first hand. Calling all Charlton young and old to up the anti now think of fresh ideas before its too late.
Very difficult for a large group of people travelling through Europe to meet up in a single town to protest - even peacefully - without involving the local Constabulary.
Much as I'd love to see this happen, realistically, smaller groups going over several times will have the element of surprise and a similar effect PR wise. Whether it's CARD, the Belgian20 or the #thewrongclub groups who do it.
We need to seriously develop the relationship with the STTV fans.

So advise the local police force - surely Belgium respects the right to peaceful protest/assembly and for now we're EU citizens so have the right to freedom of movement across the EU?
I wonder how cheaply 1,000 fans getting to St Truiden would be. Preferably on a Charlton matchday. We really have to get our club back and the one or two idiots that just like the attention should be ignored by us. Everybody else does. A peaceful march through St Truiden with those numbers would up the anti. Logistically and financially, probably too difficult though.

Surely a mass protest in the square of st truiden wouldn't need suprise? It's what is says on the tin!
If you could organise a protest in the square with the STTV fans and then advertise the date and venue on here then you'd have potentially hundred+ fans going out to support said protests with our network brothers?
That would really grab the medias attention if a few hundred Charlton fans travel to Belgium and organise protest with another team! Given that we've got the banners, got then placcards and got the people to do such, I think it would be a great idea!

Logistically maybe and there are always those who say "I'm up for it" but are then washing their hair that weekend but financially people have always paid their own way.
Would be even cheaper if people go over together in shared cars/minibuses/coaches.
But CARD and the B20 are already doing this so not a "new" protest. Still very valid though/
Yes, it needs to be viewed as so important, that it is a duty - to be a success. Imagine the convoy heading for StTruiden - headed by a yellow taxi -having done the drive a couple of times, it is a nice simple one.
But the organisation would be a logistical nightmare and impossible to keep under the radar. You would also need a minimum of a couple of hundred fans to commit and actually travel.
In the current climate, I'm not convinced the Belgian authorities would openly welcome such a large group of football fans coming into a smallish town to protest against a local businessman - what with the current climate there and with a high risk of it kicking off. Fairly simple for a few agent provocateurs to be hired in as they know we would be coming.
I tell you what, to gauge support from this board, who can commit to travelling to St Truiden to protest on March 25th - MK Dons at home?
I'll start by saying I'm happy to drive there with my son and have two spare seats in the car. Eurotunnel is £60 for a day return I think.
I would be willing too - but we need more than this site and more than 200. Maybe we set a date - and give people the opportunity to sign up/commit online -then when a pre-determined number is reached - it is on! I think Belgians have the right to peacfully protest. I think something like this should be kept on the Radar!
Love the idea of a protest in Belgium (said the man without a passport). I think Doolally Shatalley has long been fed up with Charlton fans and won't want the stupidity to spread around the regime. St Truiden is the obvious one both politically, being his town, and practically, being nearer than the others. It would be great too see protests in Ujpest, Alcorcon and Jena too, but I'm not sure how feasible that would be.

A coach of 50 vocal, organised people with a plan would be much easier to arrange than 200 maybes making their own travel plans. Unless it was thousands any number could be construed as a minority. This to coincide with Something at the Valley would be good.
I think the difficulty might be the thing that makes it significant though. The question is how many people are willing to fight for their club. The cost can't be silly - but in my opinion if we did it, it would have to be well publicised and a day everybody can build up to - and the Coward knows it is coming! I think for that reason, it shouldn't be rushed - if it was feasable.

Someone needs to look into:
- Using a Google form to collect details of those who would wish to travel (with a choice of dates to see which date most could attend)
- Cost of chartering a plane from London City Airport to Limburg Airport (St Truiden) based on those numbers
When are the 2017/18 fixtures out?
Unless it was thousands any number could be construed as a minority.

Easy to say but the ramifications for any one individual could be significant.
If RD doesn't want to come to us, then let's take it to him.
This has the potential to be big.
