I’ve done a couple of dad catches in the past. First I was with my daughter (about 2 years old) in the Glades in Bromley. She was on my shoulders and I was pushing her buggy. I let her legs go for a second and she rolled backwards, I somehow caught her behind me just before she hit the floor, a bit like Tom Cruise in mission impossible.stackitsteve said:

I'm not a dad.
This was best proved when I was in a pub in Salisbury a few years back. We were talking to a couple when all of a sudden their toddler (about 2 at a guess) took a run and jump towards me. I tried to catch him but only succeeded in spinning him round so that he smashed into the floor face first.
Luckily they appear to be made out of flubber at that stage so he just bounced straight up.....shaken....a little stirred......but OK.
The couple didn't want to talk to me after that.17 -
