I can imagine that Col is actually a very engaging coach. It took somethng to go on the journey of coaching he has and he must have a diverse experience of football. Robbo liking him should be taken at face value at present in my opinion.
I must confess that I am also getting bored with the constant negative comments on everything that happens. Do people really need to say I don't care at every juncture? Does everything have to be a lie? Does everyone who disagrees have to be a twat? I support CARD, but sometimes feel I have had enough of the negativity.
I can see why people are sceptical, I am to an extent after the O'loughshit comments but surely most of us can agree that this is the most exciting managerial appointment we've made in years?

That's exactly my problem bro, the excitement about managerial appointments has been juiced out of me. Nothing against Mr robinson personally, same as with slade, Riga, peeters, fraye and luzon. He just won't be here five minutes. He's taking the devils coin but he has a family to feed so I don't blame him or any of the others that. I just don't care enough about him.
I just wish things were different and they hadn't turned out how depressingly obviously they were always going to with an old fucking loony doing an experiment on us
So... A newly-appointed head coach/manager, KR. His appointment overseen by the recently-appointed CO'L. An incumbent assistant (KN) holding the fort. Another addition, in the form of a deputy to KR, to be arranged (perhaps). Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes. Time will tell if things work out for the good, or not. Will the ch-changes entice me back to The Valley any time soon? Sorry chaps. They will not.
I really don't want to read too much into the Congo Chris comment from KR.
I'm going to try and give him at least until the end of the year to put his marker down and try and get some results before accepting he is spewing crap that he's been told by RD, which that CO comment really seems to be.
Talks a good game, doesn't he? I could find his enthusiasm quite infectious if it weren't for the fooking Elephant in the Boardroom. Good luck Karl. I can actually sense a real new manager bounce with this one. We'll see.
I want him to do well. I don't like the regime. I don't like our CEO. But, my overriding emotion is, I want him to do well. I always want Charlton to do well and because of that I'm the eternal optimist about Charlton. I just can't be any other way and, until Karl proves otherwise, he has 100% support from me.
I like his enthusiasm for the game and always have even if he did grate on me a bit Reading those articles gave me a mini lift and buzz cos I'm sure he really does mean the stuff he's saying about us , even though it's all a bit cliche , I'm ignoring the C O'L bollox But then I think of that soppy twat CEO and experimenting prick Roly and I'm all sad again
Come on Karl , give us some football excitement please and Roly and co feel free to piss off
Wanting COL to stay may have been a very diplomatic answer because I am sure I read somewhere that COL was on the interviewing panel! Some have already said that they like KR's enthusiasm; I fear that this may disappear rapidly when he wakes up to the reality of how this club is being run.
It's all rhetoric. He's saying what people want to hear. It's deeds not words that I want. As usual, he has my backing from afar for at least the 20 games before he's sacked.
Like his enthusiasm and positive approach. He has only managed one club with an owner who he connected with and had an honest relationship. Meire sells the idea by bringing out her amiable smile / school girl giggle and is backed up by an endearing chat with Uncle Duche. Who couldn't love old green teeth with Duct Tape on his shoes? Robbo is thinking eccentric but rich, I might get some money to spend. From Robinson's perspective he may be a little too innocent for the machinations of cafc. He's been sold the headline and doesn't know how disposable he really is to these owners.
The negativity on here is getting tiresome; fewer and fewer people talking in ever decreasing circles. Let this be a breath of fresh air into not only the club but this forum. Move on. Support the team and manager and think the only time they are going to sell is when they have finished the training ground development and got into the championship.
Let's be honest, Robinson is about as good a manager as we could probably hope for under this regime. Personally I think he's a fool to take the job and even more so to put out stuff that will irritate many a supporter, but as I want the team to do well I'm encouraged by the childlike glee he's expressed thus far.
I understand the sentiment regarding not wanting success to validate this regime, but for what it's worth I think any footballing success is despite the owner and CEO not because of them. 7 managers in under 3 years speaks volumes, as does the empty stands. Let's see what happens, in the full knowledge that as soon as a performance on TV embarrasses Roland again the manager will be out the door before you can say "He's a long term appointment".
Whoever takes Duchatelet's shilling isn't the right person for the job. Keep that in mind and you can't go wrong.
Why? Someone has to start somewhere. I thought he came across well. Loads are going to say he said what he was told. I'm not so sure. Give the bloke a chance. If he turns out like the last chump then fair enough - sack him but after a reasonable amount of time.
Seems like a breath of thresh air and just what we need.Lets hope his positive attitude rubs off in the dressing room and the team go on a long unbeaten run.Good luck Karl.COYR
I have no doubt that he scores highly on point one. Point two is TBC. A fiery young manager with lofty ambitions is exactly what we need. Someone to stand up to Meire/Duchatalet. Like most, my dislike for KM and RD does not extend to actively hoping Charlton lose games. I hope so much this is a success. Good luck Karl.

This is what I don't get - people getting more hung up about fan negativity than they do about the causes of it. Open your eyes for chrissake.
Hardly anybody on here has intimated that we should not give him a chance, but I remember back in the mist of time that Jose Riga in his first press conference that it was natural or normal for fans to be suspicious of a new manager. Riga did not ask to be given a chance but invited people to judge him on results. My vibe is that people here want Robinson to be successful, but as a support we have been so battered and bewildered it is no surprise Robinson isn't being given a blank cheque.

Good 1st press conference, good luck Robbo.
I wonder what KR's demands were?
Either that, or I'm suffering another flashback to the 1930s.
I hope he gets a good start, a winning run, and the players buy into how he plays.

I will give him time. ( Robinson ) but got to be honest not impressed as many of you on here appear to be, comes across to me as a bit of an arse.
