for me the only one who could turn this round at least short term is Alan Curbishley in some role
Curbishley doesn't know football anymore, certainly not management. Euell and JJ are inexperienced but they know this Charlton.

The Charlton we have loved in the past is long gone, I don't think anyone can turn much around until Roland has gone.
Curbishley does know how to run a football club especially Charlton, thats why i said in some role, agree with the Roland comment sadly

Curbishley hasn't managed for an awful long time though, indeed apart from that brief spell at Fulham, he hasn't been near a club for years, let along take coaching

There is no way Roland would bring Curbs in, even if he was willing to come. In all honesty, no manager would want this job.

but being realistic bert that's not going to happen.
It has to be Euell, Jackson, Bowyer and the players pulling together.

Doesn't make sense to announce Kewell before announcing a takeover

unless deal done but waiting EFL approval which takes about a week I believe.

If that was the case I'm pretty sure we would know about it.

Maybe after the devastation of Katrien leaving and really dropping the club in it, Roland cannot bear to let another valued member of the team leave.
Let’s be honest, if we lose another asset, we’re fucked, we might even end up with a terrible situation where we get promoted or something.

Curbishley knows more about football than the likes of Robinson have had hot dinners.

He wouldn't work for Duchatelet though. Curbs is his own man.

I really cannot hear the phrase: "Someone has to work for Duchatelet why shouldn't it be me?"

Euell didn't want the first team position last time he was offered it on a caretaker basis. Would he take it this time?

If I was Euell I wouldn't want it either
If I was Euell i'd still be working on my first touch....

There is a very big difference between offering your resignation and actually resigning.

I have to admit I have used the tactic myself indeed did resign from a position within the company but not from the company itself. I had a dual contract.

It is a leverage point which largely says "on the basis of resources there is nothing more I can do for you and I would like the opportunity to explore other options"

In essence it is the point at which you say "it is not working, I am doing my best but if you want me to go, pay my contract up and I will go".

The actual terms of any formal exit will be defined by his contract. He can in effect put himself on gardening leave but will face possible financial consequences.

Quite what the players are supposed to think and where this leaves the clubhouse is anyone's guess.

The underlying current remains with this guy, despite all the fine words about his coaches and backroom staff, that the dialogue is ultimately always about him.

I am not sure our situation can become anymore bizarre.

Robinson wants his cake and eat it. Pay off from us, walks into new job.

All this is in the public domain because Robinson wants it there, no other reason. Maybe the Kewell stuff too.

    as I said at 12.32pm ;-))

Zero sympathy for Robinson. Everyone warned him and he wouldn't listen.

I hate Duchatelet - Robinson is a bang average lower league manager but he has had promises broken by the owner. I can't hate him - I feel for him a bit. Even a good manager's patience would be tried working for that tool!

Have feeling last Saturday's experiment with 4-4-2 was because his main front man won't be available.

The problem for Robbo is if he resigned and claimed constructive dismissal based on lies and broken promises, he would probably win, as Curbs did with West Ham. But it does not go well for you in the football world if you do that!
