Good luck to the Supporters Trust tonight, hope your evening goes well. Dave White is a great bloke and has first-hand experience of being involved when the Club worked at its best (along with seeing it when things have not been going so well), so I’m sure will give an interesting insight.
On a general point, I can’t stress enough how important I think it is at times like these that people give their support to CAST.
I personally think they took a real ballsy call this year to embrace the protest movement in demanding change in the ownership / running of the club. Like ourselves at CL, we knew it was not something that would be universally approved by members / users, by we were confident that it was something we felt strongly about and carried the majority weight of support of our users.
CAST would have had a similar consideration, probably more so as a fee-taking body, but I think they have carried the right line fantastically well in sticking to / representing the view of the majority of fans, remaining active and supportive in the protest movement, but being that bit more detached and intelligent about it.
They’ve also undertaken coach travel in recent months, which is a big time-consuming undertaking but is offering a cheaper alternative to fans and helping to once again build away from the club further blocks in terms of the strengthening of Charlton supporter organisation.
So if you’ve no interest in going to their meeting, tonight, give up 2 mins of your lunchtime on the link below and chuck just £5 their way to strengthen their support and endorsement (and free to register juniors).
thanks AFKA, I am going to click that link right now. Unfortunately I can't attend tonight though. Joining though is something I should have done before.
On this point, is it time for the Trust to produce a flyer to be handed out at a forthcoming home game stating both their aims and their position on the regime. Might encourage a few more to join given the current climate.
Thanks for such a strong endorsement, AFKA, and for finally joining the ranks, Large. Good idea re the flyer. I believe we will have the stall behind Covered End this Saturday too, where people can pop along and join in the old - fashioned way.
We have well over 1,000 members but it would be great if we could significantly increase that in these tough times. All helps in keeping a strong and united voice in the protests.
I'm a CAST member but can't make tonight, which is a shame as I would like to put names to faces. Hope it goes well and look forward to the glorious day.
A longstanding prior commitment prevents my attendance unfortunately but I hope all goes well and my daughter and I will be renewing when our existing subs run out.
Am looking forward to meeting some of you this evening.
For your information: The Christmas lights are being turned on in Eltham High Street this evening. Eltham High Street will be closed from 4.30pm until about 8pm. Some buses will be on diversion.
Looking forward to meeting people tonight and thanks for the endorsement AFKA. We are certainly stronger together as has been shown so many times over the years (sadly), i'll be at the stall on Saturday so anyone who is unsure and can't make tonight please do pop over to chat and hopefully join up if you aren't already a member.

I'll be signing up on Saturday #betterlatethannever
My first trust meeting and I can honestly say hats off to all the trust board for their hard work and time spent giving back to our football club on our behalf.
We've got some real articulate and educated people leading the trust and listening to them tonight made me realise how lucky we are to have people that will give up their time for us.
I can only echo what AFKA said in his earlier message and urge people to sign up. They are a credit to the club and deserve the £5 membership fee for all the hard work they put in

I was sat in the row in front of Seth, on the far left. You didn't say hello! Good to meet a few lifers tonight. My first meeting - very impressive
Also striking that there were only one or two passing references re who might be the new manager. What a state we are in when that issue is largely irrelevant to the fans. Thanks, Roland and Katrien.

We can all play guess the lifer. I'll recognise Prague from his LinkedIn photo
Looking forward to it

Also had the pleasure of sitting next to @seth plum and meeting @Weegie Addick again, and putting a face to a name and introduced to @PragueAddick and @Pico
