No way will Russ spill the beans. The chaps managerial career is in tatters. He has been a manager for 22 years, never won promotion and only got his last two jobs due to madcap owners. With his last three clubs being Orient, Cardiff and us he has carved out a little niche as a puppet for a loon owner, he won't throw that away to score some points against an ex employer who will have tied him up to some non disclosure contract to be paid off.

Now at Grimsby again. Don't know how mad Grimsby's owners are. But he went into another job with another turd owner in Sisu. As for never winning promotion he was unlucky not to do it with the Os. The luck he had in the final it seems like it's just not meant to be destined for him. Jimmy White and World snooker champion, Colin Monty and golfing major, Paula Radcliffe and an Olympic medal AND Russ Slade and promotion.
Playing what if, where do people think we'd be now if he had stayed. Certainly wouldn't have been looking down at any stage IMO and we would probably still have an outside chance of the play-offs given we know the sides in the mix from 3-8 are no great shakes

Mid table with him being slagged off for defensive boring football.
He annoyed me by getting sacked in November. I wanted to go up to him at the Peterborough game and shout. "Iiiiiiii ttttttttsssscccccchhhhhhhhhrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiissssssssttttttttmasss."
I quite liked Slade, couldn't stand how defensive his football was against shite sides.
He was too defensive, 4-5-1 at home? Jesus wept. If he'd only gone so far as to play 4-4-2 on occasion it would have been better, oh and if he had any idea of how to make a decent substitution. Let's not forget his ability to change the game for the better in game was totally nonexistent.
He was more likeable than Karel Gobinson though (thanks to @foresthillred for the forename).
