Absolutely dreadful football, clueless substitutions and no results coming either way. People will inevitably deflect to RD and KM but the blame for our results is solely on Slade. Our recruitment was more than good enough and I'd say second to Bolton. No excuse whatsoever for being as poor as we are. There's the inevitable question of what comes in after but I seriously don't want Slade to be in charge for too much longer. I fear if we leave it too long the damage will be irreparable.

He should get until the end of the season MINIMUM.
Today's result was not down to the regime. We have the players to win more games than not in this league and we're not because of Slade.
Can we call for a manager's head when we've previously moaned about not giving various others not enough time etc? If we do are we not being hypocritical?
Sad thing is - I don't really care anymore.
Sometimes I think we deserve failure.
Getting rid of Slade in September is a totally ridiculous idea regime or no regime.
Slade probably only took the job for the money. He knows that managers don't hang around for too long under Roland. Get the sack after a few months and get your contract paid up. Easy money!
I wouldn't "call" for him to be sacked, simply because it wouldn't change anything.
In short, I'm in the quickly-expanding group that's begining not to care.
We were down for ages, and the recruitment issues came from the late appointment of a manager, an uncertain and unsettled squad, late changes, the need to sign unattached players to plug gaps, the departure of players like Holmes-Dennis, Harriott, Gudmunsson, Cousins, Pope and Diarra in what seemes a reactive and uncontrolled way.
After the pre-season game against orient Slade said we were 'miles away', and the recruitment approach since then, with issues regarding advice to Roland, and issues around scouting has been poor. For all his possible limitations I an sure Slade himself could see that in midfield we desperately need a player that is comfortable receiving the ball, and for the most part can shift it on with a degree of vision. i am not talking about a dribbler, a runner, a tackler, a box to box guy, but a player who is happy to occupy that area of the pitch and is happy when the ball comes to him.
The recruitment has been poor because it has been rushed, haphazard, dependent on other events at the club, too late in the day and generally an effort to make do and mend dressed up as a masterplan.
And who do you think they will replace him with?? Another English manager? And how many games is fair for him? 10? 5? 2?
Absolutely pathetic thread.
However i do agree his tactics are a bit on the negative side. We should be taking the game to the majority of this division not playing for a point.
If things haven't picked up by christmas, then it maybe time to consider his position but it's not even October.
One thing to encourage us is that Barnsley were bottom of League One this time last year.
