I have a technical question about the product (if it's possible to have a technical question about a cloth badge). That plastic stuff on the back, is that just to protect the stitching or is it heat activated glue so you can iron the badges on?

Sorry to be apain mine arrived in post Tuesday evening but package was damaged and post office wrapped it into a plastic bag .can you confirm what you put in post to me.Think i am missing something.
