"It is not like he was at a team that is going to struggle in League One"- well if we keep selling our squad Russell...
But we don't 'keep' selling. We've sold someone who has played a grand total of 14 times, stop whinging for the sake of whinging.

A CM to come in and we'll cruise to play offs minimum

We've let go 21 first-team players since May, excluding loans. Not all sold by any means, since we can't even give some of them away, but that is a huge turnover by any standards.

Majority of them deadwood, would you not agree? I think we have a better squad this season than we did last season.

If THD asked to leave, Im not sure could have done anything about it. You cant have a player knocking about in the squad who has no interest in playing for us.

On the other hand, the regime got us relegated so he probably would have stayed if we were a champ club.

I think for an established first team player it is hard to say no, but THD was not that and Slade could have said no. I suspect that Slade was not that keen on him and there was a personality clash, so happy to let him go.

Maybe they should pass on a message and say well done Slade get rid of people who dont want to play for us
  • Burnley are rumoured to have offered £9m for Dale Stephens of Brighton.
We possibly sold him for £350,000 have we got a sell-on clause?

Local papers are totally shit. Reflect the opinions of most of Charlton's fans.
    Or the club
No brainer, the club gives you press releases, the fans demand actual journalism. They cop out.
    They are just shit.

And you are really shit at times as well. I rate Rich Cawley as one of the journos putting a lot of Charlton stuff out there. Think he does a good job.

Oh well . I've not seen journalists giving out stuff or working to get Duchatet out. I have seen them getting free access to see the games but but not actually asking the questions that really matter. But I'm just shit.
Sol i know where i stand. I'm a fan with an opinion but apparently i don' t matter.
Fair enough I'm done. No more protesting, no more caring about the club because I'm shit.
    Bye.
What on earth is that smell?

No we'll have to pay Brighton an extra £2m if he goes!!

I'd imagine Pinocchio's far too dim to think of that.

From memory we got 800K which was less than Aston villa offered a season before that and Slater turned down because they wanted over the million plus add ons.

    9 million seems high ?
but pleased that another one i predicted good things for if he could ever stay fit may get a chance to play in the Premier ( even if just one season)

Those numbers are way off. From recollection Villa would have paid a couple of million but Jimenez decided he could get more out of them, took over the negotiations from Prothero, and they told him to poke it.

It's not a question of him wanting to leave as much as it is a question of WHY he wanted to leave?

    We're a fecking farce!!!

The interview says it, can't get ahead of Fox and want's to play football, which he is unlikely to get at Huddersfield so it probably them comes back to money.
Exactly. I can understand why THD would rather be on the bench in The Championship than in L1.

If you're going to be sitting on the bench, you might as well be earning a fair bit more.

I have come in and looked on cafc player for the press day, which is usually kicked off with BBC Kent.
    Anyway it wasn't there.
On cafc youtube channel there is a 'different' style of interview with Slade pre Bolton.
Is there some kind of new communications policy going on?

We had no atendees for press day today, so sat Russell down ourselves.
Usually BBC Radio Kent and News Shopper are the only ones who turn up.
Tony Hudd of BBC Kent is away on holiday and News Shopper were unable to attend so that's what we were left with.

Given her experience of football, I doubt she even knew it was possible. That said, check out Sue's latest on how Slade identified the new signings but it was down to Katrien's brilliance behind the scenes that we landed them.

What Slade failed to add was '...and if Foxy gets injured we have....'

Lennon expected to play one more game for the under 23's and then will be Fox backup as well as CD
    Oh that's bl**dy great !

Sell one back up player then expect another to slot into 2 positons !

FFS - even Harry's not that good !

It's all so obvious why we signed Josh Magennis now.

Katrien: what's that Josh? You used to play in goal?

Magennis: yes. But it was 8 years ag....."gets put on hold"

Katrien: hello Tony, get back on the blower to Burnley and Forest. Let both Hendo and Popey go. I've pulled another master stroke.
