Just finished reading about a RAF gent captured,tortured by the Japanese in Singapore who escaped and made it all the way to Australia-----the book is called "you"ll die in Singapore" ----at the end of the Preface it says " Charles McCormac 1954 Welling Kent" ---this true hero died in 1985 ages 70.
I know there are a few peeps interested in local war history on here , the book isnt long but this gents story is worth reading---the end is worth the wait
