Now that the game has been called off is anybody interested in going to a non-league game in the area?

Goole v Bamber Bridge in the Evo Stik is on.

Goole is on the way to Scunthorpe so tickets will be valid for this journey. This is one way of salvaging something from the tickets and anybody who has not been to a non-league game before may enjoy the amateur game.

Turn it in Ffs.Goole v Bamber Bridge! Leave off.
Another off the list Mr Otto.

Mr Snide has train tickets for £20, my first round!
  • For all fans that have booked train travel to this game,i feel gutted for you.You pay enough already for trains so trying to save alitte bit by advance booking you have all been kicked into touch.

Something has to be done for the fans that have booked travell.....How about the CEO digs into her own pocket and refunds the Charlton fans.

    Customers LC ....
  • I think if more than three of your players are called up for England (maybe home nations) then you should be entitled to have the game postponed. Then, if you sign players from abroad - which you're fully entitled to do - you know you'll potentially be without them for international fixtures.

Is that what you think it should be changed to or is it what you think the case is now?
  • It's the price you have to pay for having such a star studded squad....................oh hang on a minute :open_mouth: .

  • Can't we just agree with the League to call it a 0-0 draw and move on?
  • I don't drive much, and our director of transport is a little doddery these days, I just can't seem to convince him we should train everywhere, so this postpones a difficult conversation for another week.
  • If you booked via The Trainline I believe you can switch the tickets to another date (possibly the rearranged fixture). However, I believe there is a £10 admin charge per ticket, so it will cost you £20. However, if you've shelled out a lot more than £20, it's worth investigating. Mind you, I'm not sure you'll be able to get a train back on a weekday evening, although I've not looked.

Hotels may be cancellable or switched as well. I think hotel bookings can also be "sold" online, the Organiser does this.

Anyone affected should check out their situation, rather than assume you've lost the money.

Morgan Fox and Andrews Crofts havent been called up by Wales

Have to wait til Sunday to see if Rudd, Solly, Johnson, Lennon, Jackson, Holmes, Ajose, Lookman and Novak get the call though.

Bauer, Teixeira, Foley, Ba and Botaka also waiting

Seriously, how the fuck can third tier football be affected by international call ups? Imagine if they did it with the African cup of nations, no-one would play football for that whole period. If it means Botaka isn't on the bench for a game and KAG and Hanlan are both in it instead, then fine
KAG and Hanlan may not be with us by then.
Kennedy and Umerah then, or Aribo and Yamfam, who cares? Point is, clubs in the third division should just get on with it, it's not like we will have 15 players called up
I think all clubs should get on with it... Man City and Man Utd included should play who is left available

    Would make the Leagues interesting
I'm sure it's what they do in cricket, I'm not sure about rugby though, any egg chasers know?
They 'get on with it' in rugby union too.

Effectively the top clubs get around this by having large squads.

Cricket is a strange one. If you produce a player like Joe Root, who plays all 3 types of the game for England, then you'll hardly see him at all

The players are paid predominantly by the ECB (central contracts) The ECB then manage the players' workloads so they are in the best shape/form to play for England when required.

Counties then have an extra (good) player on the books who they don't have to pay much/anything for, so they can budget a larger squad to cover it, and have the bonus of an International player appearing now and again.

  • You won't be able to get a train back that night.

Never mind, Scunthorpe is buzzing on a Tuesday night.
  • Marvellous, I'm on holiday and somehow Whitstable to Scunthorpe half way through is not going to happen...

Thanks for the heads up, DR.

Travelodge booking in Scunthorpe can be amended with only a £2 loss for the credit card fee.
  • Thought Lookman was too tired to play 90 so what's the point of sending him off to Buxton or wherever St George's is.
  • Might get on this now its been moved.
  • Hotel booked up for this now on Tuesday 20th Sept, many others doing it?
  • Despite the change this optimistic fool and erratic driver will be there, hopefully.

I'm surprised you got a room, the hotels around Scunthorpe are normally packed out with holiday makers...

My wife will be 39 weeks pregnant by then though so it may get vetoed!
