The officer that has been convicted got just 8 years ! Out in 6 probably, disgusting sentence. If that happened in the States there would be outcry. Excessive force to the extent of kicking someone in the head and leaving lace marks. If a normal citizen did that whatever the circumstances I doubt they would only get 8 years ffs

The Police force employing him are unable to proceed with misconduct hearings until criminal proceedings are finalised, their hands are tied with that. Now he's been found guilty his employment hearing will be fast tracked and I suspect will be wrapped up pretty quick.

Be interesting to see if/what the explanation is from CPS in terms of why it took so long, there may very well be reasons why which just are not in the public domain.
