GB v Argentina: sport

Lifers, can you help settle an argument?

Tonight, GB (Andy Murray) and Argentina (Juan Martin Del Potro) face each other in the Olympics Gold Medal final. The question is this: has Britain faced Argentina in a competitive decider in any sport, since the Falklands conflict?

I know the two teams have played each other in a Sevens match (but not a decider); and we've played one-off rugby matches. But is this the first time one will knock the other out in a winner-take-all match?

Womens Hockey beat Argentina 3-2 the other night. Not sure if it was group stage or knockout.

There were quite a lot of Argentines in that crowd though and I'd expect even more tonight

If it goes the same way as The Falklands conflict Murrya should win gold before the first set is over.
