It is a pity any of that squad will be released. For example we generally thought Adigun, Santos, Chin and one or two others, well regarded by regular U21 watchers, might make it with us. But they were released. Because he is contracted I believe Rylah will be loaned out next season, but it will be with regret if Aaron Henry, Harvey Kedwell, Toby Bower, Patrick Casey(!) and Seydil Toure are released…maybe one or two others too. Some of those I have mentioned above will nevertheless make a respectable career in football.
Isn't Casey still under contract? Thought he signed a long term pro?
Yes. I forgot that. In my opinion Casey and Rylah would benefit from a season long loan at a credible club. With Scott Lindsey there, maybe Crawley might be an option.
U21s I don't recall us finishing top two for a while, as its an Age Group thats disrupted with players going up to the First Team or out on Loan
Edit: 1st - 6th - 7th - 1st - 1st - 2nd - 4th - 4th - 5th - 4th - 8th - 8th is our U21 record, with 2017/18 being the last time we got into the Play-Offs in the Professional Development League, 4th is definitely an improvement and a return to normality given the last two seasons.
Thanks for this.
I must have been thinking of the U18s, 4th not such a bad showing given recent history then
M'bick, Fullah, Mwamba, Enslin all with the first team I assume. Casey and Laqeretabua injured.
They played very recently too so would be bad for their recovery to play so soon. Someone on Twitter saying Laq is injured. Feel sorry for Casey, could have been a chance at a breakthrough season but seems to have had bad luck with injuries
Forgot about the game. But watching the second half on the stream. Charltons passing has been awful, and players seem to not know where each other are supposed to be. Also Coventry very good at the press their players looking far more lively.

Just as well you missed the first half - second has been a big improvement!

Quite a few u21 regulars missing which can’t help.
Brentford and Bournemouth won their semi's v Sheff Utd and Burnley so the two southern section teams who pushed us into 4th place will face each other in the final.
Family are very good friends with one of the Maidstone United owners, I am meeting up with them all on Saturday so may mention Harvey’s name to them as a potential option. Have always thought Maidstone should look to loaning him from us but now he’s been released, it makes perfect sense.
Harvey Kedwell has posted on Instagram that he’s been released. Not a massive surprise, think he should be able to get a decent NL South/NL gig though
Agree with that. One of the players I’d put down as solid at u21 level and can have a good career, but not quite at the level we need for the first team.
Hopefully he finds the right club and can work his way back up the leagues.

Remember having a discussion on here with someone (possibly you!) about how you need solid players like him at u21 level to let your flair players try risky things and learn. Important in the development of others possibly to the detriment of his own

Not sure if that was me, but I did say something along the lines of some players are solid and reliable at u21 level but the first team is a big step up, so that isn't always enough. They need that bit extra whether it's technically or physically.
On your last point, of course you need a big enough squad to play matches over a season, and not every player is going to have the same potential to play at first team level. Even more so now we're back in the Championship.

Good that Henry is fit enough to play. Travelled with the first team to Wrexham but would be very surprised if kept on next season.
Guessing the trialist is Ivanov.
Very disjointed today.
Good lad, good engine and should prosper in non-league and maybe then move up.
Hopefully he finds the right club and can work his way back up the leagues.
I understand a number of players from the under 21 squad are being released.
I think he may still have a credible career at a modest level.
