Five of our six goal of the month contenders were scored by academy graduates or current u21 players.
TC, Leaburn, Laqeretabua (great strike for a CB), Casey (not the first finish like this I’ve seen from him) and Fullah (on the Netherlands trip, I hadn’t seen this one until now). Berry was the other goal scorer.
Charlton's U21s are back in action on Tuesday afternoon, taking on Bristol City at Princes Park in Professional Development League Two (KO 1pm GMT). Supporters can attend Tuesday's fixture with admission priced at £5 for adults and £3 for concessions, while 2024/25 men's season-ticket holders and Valley Gold members go free. Due to the men's first-team's fixture against Barnsley also taking place on Tuesday, the U21s game will not be streamed on CharltonTV.
I'm surprised one of Hylton or Ahadme hasn't been given a game today. Neither would be expected to make the 18 tonight, and it's unlikely we'd need both as emergency cover for late injuries.
Charlton Under 21s were held to a 1-1 draw by Bristol City Under 21s in a league match at Dartford, Pat Casey with the goal. Charlton are now second in the table a point behind Brentford who have a game in hand #cafc
Just arrived back from Princes Park, scrappy game & a draw probably a fair result. Casey hit the post after about 5 minutes in the 1st half & after that the only thing of note, on 6 occasions the ball was booted over the stand & out of the ground. The 2nd half was a bit more lively with Mitchell making a great goal line clearance early in the half. Dixon wasted a good chance after being put clean through on goal but putting his shot well wide. Gough did play in midfield & was very impressive in that unfamiliar position but was substituted at half time as he is gradually recovering from a long term injury.
