@aliwibble can the thread title be changed to U21s please to reflect rule changes
Done. For future reference, @admin doesn't exist, so tagging it into a thread has no effect, but tagging mods in by name like this usually works. Probably best to direct it to a couple of us if possible, in case one of us is unavailable.

Now can you take out the superfluous apostrophe please? I feel queasy whenever I open the thread.
If you missed it last night there was a program on Sky called One Shot the football factory. It was about the scouts who tour South London sweeping the area for young talent and trying to get the trials/contracts with clubs. Surprisingly we didnt feature, Cheltenham did quite a bit along with Tooting. However it was really interesting as it demonstrated what a massive pool of potential talent is on our doorstep. The downside from a social point of view is the majority of the youngsters had no plan B which highlights what the personal devastation must be if they dont make it

Thanks for this. I have watched all 4 episodes now, interestingly episode 2 had us down as a Championship club.
The last two episodes features a father basically trying to live his life through his son. Even moved the family out to Portugal as fallen frustrated at his son's rejection by various English clubs. Ended up playing in Portuguese div 4. Unbearable pressure on his son - sad to see.
County cup news: I've been told that we have entered the London Senior Cup, like last year. The draw is due to take place tomorrow. The draw for the Kent Senior Cup has already been released and we're not in that one.
The fact that the Premier League have floated a proposal to increase solidarity payments in return for Championship clubs taking their young players on loan and giving them game time tells you all you need to know about the the increasing inequality of the English game. The proposal is designed to try and head off or soften the impact of Tracey Crouch’s Fans’ Review and facilitate ever larger ‘player farms’.
Although we lost Beadle to Brighton towards the end of last season, Thomas and the club have done well to secure the other youngsters from our very successful Under 18s last season. No doubt they’ll have to work just as hard to do likewise with the next promising crop.

Yes, couldn't agree more. I do wonder how much the kids signed up have eaten into our squad budget too (not complaining about that as they are so promising and the future of the club imo).
Seen on twitter no fans can attend. A but bizarre to say the least unless it is due to building work?
Could also be at the request of Sheffield United (bit bizarre I know but if they have a potential signing trialist playing or something and don't want it to be public knowledge)

Unfortunately, due to the late nature of the venue change, they were unable to arrange stewarding etc... which would be required, so it had to be played behind closed doors. This won't be the norm going forward.

The U21s will continue their campaign with a home clash against Sheffield United on Monday, August 15th (2pm).
Supporters should note that this game will now take place at Sparrows Lane with the game set to be broadcast live on CharltonTV.

I think it will be a very interesting game.
