FFS stop the whingeing on here. We had our protests and we got changes now get behind the team. Duchebag has said he is not selling. Liar Liar will always be here so long as Duchebag owns the club. So get used to it.
Nothing has changed.
Well some things quite clearly have changed. We have a proper manager making proper football decisions.
Just because we have an owner and a CEO that we want out, does not mean nothing will ever change.
Some things will never change and that's why I want them gone, but let's not ignore the evidence, that some things have changed.

How many players are we short, the same day the season starts? Almost exactly the same as last season, I'd imagine.
How many permanent keepers do we have? LESS than last season, it's getting worse, not better!

We're 4 short I'd say, but the window has been held back by the Euros and also The Prem teams haven't announced their squads yet, so no one knows what Prem players may be available for loan.
Yes of course I'd rather have all the players in now, but it's not a perfect world.
I'd rather we wait a few games and hopefully get in 4 more players that Slade wants and can fully contribute to 41 or more games, than accept some worse players that are not good enough, but can contribute to all 46 games.
I'm ok with having Phillips on the bench or the lad from Carlisle. We can always get in another goalie as an emergency loan.
Apologies if this has been posted already but could Brussell be The Master of Sarcasm ?
The master of ignorance, perhaps. Had he done 2minutes of research or spoken to some real pro's, sure it wouldn't take him long to get hold of someone like Chris Powell.. I doubt he'd be here. He's trying to kid himself that he can work under these restraints; he can't.. lying about it to try butter them up won't work.

Course he would. He knew the score - at least in general terms.
Obviously disappointed about the result but Roger Johnson is an absolute disgrace and he should be sacked immediately. I was willing to give the new set up the benefit of the doubt and having spent a lot of effort and money getting up to Bury to support the team to be abused by that complete neanderthal is appalling. It will be interesting what Slade or Liar Liar have to say about this incident. If he is as ignorant as he seems then it won't be long before he upsets his teammates and then we will have the usual slide that folows morale loss. No one wanted Johnson back so get out of our club you cretin. Play one of the academy boys instead. They deserve the chance more than this ignorant pig. One bad result does not make a bad season but we should be talking about the football not some off the field issue. Sound familiar!!!!!Oh my god another season. Do we really need this????
His gonna look a massive tit when he realises they won't sign the players he wants. Unless they are freebies or out of contract injury prone players.
I think we will sign the players he wants, even spending money, but expect Tex, Fox, Lookman and Bauer to go. Income from fees will far outweigh expenditure, wage budget will be slashed. Whether the squad we are left with will be good enough for promotion only time will tell.

In one respect Slade is in a win-win situation. If (and it's a bloody big if) he has some success, then everyone will think he's a miracle worker and his stock will go through the roof. If, as is looking increasingly likely, he fails or leaves early no-one will pin the blame on him because everyone in football knows that the Charlton regime is rotten to the core.

Surely the research he did before agreeing to take the post has set alarm bells ringing that he might have been stitched up by the Daisy/RD dream team? Plentiful of rhetoric and promises, little end result. Agreed, it's hard to sign players to a club is such a mess, but with injuries and suspensions etc brought into play, I would suggest we are more than two or three players light for a long campaign. If the goal really is promotion, then we are at least half a dozen solid players short.

Relegation if your post becomes correct.
Would be brilliant for completing the 92 though.
I'll finish the '92 @ Shrewsbury, shame it's midweek.
No lose as far as he is concerned. Stick it out and get a decent pay-off when the inevitable sacking comes along or turn it round and enhance his reputation.
All he has to do is massage Katrien's ego with appropriate platitudes at the right time and soup de jour as Del Boy would say.
He was hardly on the up when we signed him. Sidelined at Cardiff, not sure there were many clubs beating a path to his front door. For him, perhaps a last tilt at the windmill in the hope he could turn things round. He may already be seeing how hard it is to do that under this regime. With a three-year deal he won't jump, he'll wait to be pushed. And can't see Roland agreeing to a pay off, so he's here for a while.

I think he'll get found out
He certainly did tonight
I was writing about my fear for his lack of coaching and tactical nous in pre-season and many felt it was far too premature. We've started the season paying very much the way we did in pre-season, I still very much have those concerns, I don't think he'll end up being a good enough coach (and that's the operative word, you can be a manager and help sign the players but you also have to coach them) for a team hoping for (operative word "hoping") promotion from this division.
For Riga's poor points return, I could point at Lookman, Harriott, Diarra, Fox, Cousins, Igor, Bergdich, and Mak as players who all started playing better under him. Thus far, going on pre-season and the first couple matches, who is playing better under Slade? Fox maybe? It sounds like he's really been working on his crossing.
I was going to write that "I think the pendulum has swung too far the other way, against Slade" here. That you can't get found out after two games. But honestly, my heart's not in it. We're playing the same way we did in pre-season from the sounds of things. Flat, no creativity, no plan in possession, and just lumping it forward or getting it wide to Holmes and hoping. Slade, in the interest of fairness, deserves at least a few more matches to sort it out but I'm worried he won't. Would obviously love to be proved wrong.

I think it's all down to your interpretation of 'over the line'. As football fans, getting something over the line sounds a bit like scoring a goal; i.e. achieving something desirable. Katy's big role in this regime is to be a blocker though. To her getting something over the line means hoofing it into touch - and it looks like that's exactly what she's done.
Nothing personal but he's a crap manager, no previous real success, took the job knowing what state the club were in just to pick up a pay cheque and bag himself a 3 year deal.
I've never been convinced he was the right choice. Mainly as he's never one promotion with any side in the past 20 years.
But as he's had half a squad taken from him and obviously not been given the resources to replace them adequately he's facing an impossible task here.
if he's had half the squad taken away and not been given the resources he was promised, he needs to have the balls to publicly speak out and say, back me or I'm off! Not morph into KM and RD's love child and carry on collecting a wage each week. Show them up.....but he won't.
After getting un-ceremoniously shafted by Cardiff most people in his position would have told them to fuck off......not RS, he rolled over and carried on taking a salary for doing virtually fuck all, in a pointless role, until Charlton came knocking that is.....

Scorers included, Billy Bonds, Harry Gregory, Mike Kenning, Ron Saunders and Alan Campbell.
Just saying. Just very sad.

He'll be gone by October. Hopefully....
