just had a tip-off that Balanos's agent was staying at the Marriott last night and confirmed that he was over for talks with Charlton. He confirmed this to a Newcastle supporting friend who was staying there last night and got chatting at breakfast. Would be a great signing from what we saw last year.

Chistian name is Christian, Cristiano or Cristian !

His club in Costa Rica is Deportivo Saprissa, but didn't he go on loan to our Belgian friends at Germinal Beerschot?

When he played at the valley- i thought he played a more central role than an out and out winger.

remember we have andy reid. i know he's not everyones cuppa tea but he is proven in the championship and he does have a great dead ball delivery, something which will stand us in good stead. hes another sicknote though sadly, i just get pissed off when we buy someone expensive (by our standards) and they hardly play!

Get rid of Thomas and Rommedahl, means we still have Sam, Reid, Ambrose, Lisbie(??), the Danish guy and perhaps Bolanos.

I don't think Scandinavians are risky in terms of adapting to football here.

Hopefully Bolanos has been playing in Belgium - don't want another Pouso embarrassment!

Very, and wouldn't be my plans, but I think it's extremely likely Rommedahl will go, and pretty likely that Jerome will also leave...
